In Pre-K, play has a purpose!

Our Nance Pre-K teachers shared with our Board of Education how much learning happens through play and why those early experiences matter.

Yes, our youngest Reds get to play, but they’re also learning to solve problems, share, communicate, work together, and try new things. Even recess is an opportunity to build skills that will serve them well in the classroom and beyond.

These little moments add up to big things! The foundation built in Pre-K helps prepare our students for kindergarten and the journey ahead, all the way through graduation.

We’re proud of our Nance Pre-K teachers and the important work they do to help our youngest Reds grow, learn, and get ready for what’s next!

October 2 is National Custodian Day, and we’re celebrating the people who work behind the scenes every day to keep our schools clean, safe, and ready for our students.

To our incredible CPS custodial teams: thank you for all you do! From the early mornings to the late afternoons, you take pride in our schools and help make them places where our students and staff can learn, work, and thrive.

We see you. We appreciate you. And today, we’re especially thankful for you! 💛🌪️

Last year, our CPS students showed up big for the Custer County Conflict Food Drive, collecting an incredible 2,114 pounds of food for Connections Food & Resource Center! 👏

Now, we have a challenge to beat. 👀

Our local banks and civic organizations have challenged CPS students to collect more than 2,114 pounds this year. If we do, they’ll donate $2,000 to the Clinton Public Schools Resource Center! 🌪️

2,114 pounds. That’s the number. Let’s beat it.

Raid the pantry. Grab a few extra items at the store. Ask your neighbors to pitch in. $1=6 pounds of food! 🥫🤑

Bring your donations to any CPS school site by tomorrow morning. Nance Elementary and Clinton Middle School families—you can bring yours to parent-teacher conferences today!

We have one day. One goal. Let’s show them what CPS can do! 💛

This is what it looks like to right here in Clinton! 📚🦋

Every month, 251 Clinton children receive a free, age-appropriate book through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. That means 251 more kids build their home libraries, discover new stories, and grow a love of reading.

This program happens because our community believes in the power of a book. ❤️

Today, September 25, on Give Like Dolly Day, you can help bring the gift of reading to even more Clinton children and families.

Learning about the five senses is even better when you can see, hear, smell, touch, and taste! 🍿

Mrs. Davis and Ms. Boyd’s classes put their learning into action with a popcorn activity that engaged all five senses. From hearing the kernels pop to smelling, feeling, seeing, and, of course, tasting the popcorn, our students got to experience their lesson in the best possible way!

Learning is always more fun when you can use all your senses! 👀👂👃🖐️👅
