Clinton High School students interested in medicine, healthcare, science, and STEM careers who are part of Dr. David Yarasheski’s Health Science Pathways recently had the opportunity to visit East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine Simulation Center & Pathology Labs for a hands-on morning exploring what it’s really like to work in medicine!

Students explored pathological specimens and learned how laboratory medicine plays an important role in diagnosing disease. They also visited the Simulation Center, where they worked with medical simulation manikins and participated in realistic clinical scenarios. Students even got hands-on experience with ultrasound technology and learned how it is used in patient care.

What a great opportunity for our students to experience medicine beyond the classroom, explore potential careers in healthcare, and learn more about the many opportunities available in the medical field! A huge THANK YOU to East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine for welcoming our students and providing such an engaging and memorable learning experience!
