Since January, members of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office have conducted 16 Driving While Intoxicated investigations, including cases involving alcohol, suspected drug impairment, repeat offenses, and motor vehicle crashes.

A DWI arrest involves much more than a traffic stop. These investigations often require roadside testing, evidence collection, chemical testing, blood draws, detailed reports, and extensive follow-up to ensure cases are properly prepared for prosecution.

Of these 16 investigations, 15 have been forwarded to the appropriate prosecuting attorney, while one remains pending laboratory analysis through the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory.

Once an investigation is submitted, charging decisions, prosecution, and the disposition of the case rest with the appropriate prosecuting attorney and the courts. Our office remains available for additional investigative requests and court testimony, but we do not determine whether charges are filed, amended, dismissed, or the ultimate outcome of the case.

We want to recognize all personnel involved in these investigations, particularly Deputy Napier, who leads our current staff with three documented DWI investigations in 2026.

These investigations require time, training, and attention to detail. We appreciate our deputies’ continued proactive efforts to identify impaired drivers and help keep Henry County’s roadways safe.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Jason Stark, age 35, of Clinton, was arrested at the Henry County Sheriff's Office on two Henry County felony warrants for Child Abduction and Stealing a Motor Vehicle, along with a Clinton Police Department warrant for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝:
Deputy Hinkle conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Boaz Sundquist, age 26, of Windsor, for Driver's License Required.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Deputy Hysom conducted a warrant service in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Veronica Flor, age 35, of Kansas City, on Henry County warrants for traffic offenses.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 – 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞:
Master Sergeant Logan and Deputy Saulters conducted a follow-up investigation in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Shawn King, age 48, of Clinton, for Assault – 3rd Degree. King allegedly headbutted the victim during an altercation.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝/𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 – 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞:
Deputy Stevens conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Joseph Sanders, age 68, of Windsor, for Driving While Suspended/Revoked – 2nd or 3rd Offense.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐱 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫:
Captain Bilbruck and Sergeant Kubilus conducted a s*x offender compliance check in the Calhoun area that resulted in the arrest of Dennis Dempsey, age 62, of Calhoun, for Failure to Register as a S*x Offender. Within 24 hours, Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Gray filed formal charges, and a felony warrant was issued for three counts of Failure to Register as a S*x Offender.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 – 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞:
Deputy Hinkle conducted a follow-up investigation in the Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of William Cain, age 29, of Windsor, for Assault – 2nd Degree. Cain allegedly struck the victim in the face multiple times with a closed fist.

24 HOURS WITH HCSO | 47 Calls and Activities

The Henry County Sheriff's Office assists in monitoring 134 registered s*x offenders residing throughout Henry County.

Each week, our deputies, detectives, and administration conduct compliance checks to ensure registered offenders are following Missouri's s*x offender registration requirements. These efforts are coordinated with local law enforcement agencies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

October 14 – Arrest: Captain Bilbruck and Sergeant Kubilus arrested 𝑫𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒔 𝑬𝒖𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒔𝒆𝒚, 62, of Calhoun, on a 24-hour investigative hold for alleged Failure to Register as a S*x Offender.

Today, The Henry County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, under Prosecuting Attorney Gray, subsequently filed three felony counts of Failure to Register as a S*x. An arrest warrant was issued by the 27th Judicial Circuit Court with a $10,000 cash-surety bond.

During the latest 24-hour reporting period, deputies handled 47 calls and activities, including 9 follow-up investigations, 8 traffic stops, 6 public service calls, 5 suspicious activity calls, and 4 building checks.

90 Inmates. 24-Hour Operations.

You've seen what our staff do on the road. Now, let's take a look at the work happening inside our Henry County Detention Center.

𝑨 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂𝒕 𝟐𝟒 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒋𝒂𝒊𝒍:

• 3 inmate bookings and 3 releases
• 8 court appearances and 2 transports
• 5 medical-related activities
• 24 inmates attended Celebrate Recovery
• 17 recreation activities

And that's just part of it.

Our detention staff operates what is essentially a small town behind the walls. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared and served in-house for approximately 90 to 100 inmates daily. Add medical care through our nurse and doctor, medication distribution, laundry, cleaning, security checks, inmate supervision, and around-the-clock operations.

Much of this work goes unseen, but it never goes unappreciated. We're proud of our detention staff and the work they do every day.

𝑨𝑵𝑶𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑹 𝑰𝑵𝑽𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻 𝑰𝑵 𝑯𝑬𝑵𝑹𝒀 𝑪𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑻𝒀 𝑷𝑼𝑩𝑳𝑰𝑪 𝑺𝑨𝑭𝑬𝑻𝒀

Earlier this year, we shared that Henry County and six of our communities had once again earned the 2026 Missouri Blue Shield designation.

Today, we're excited to share another step forward.

Through the Missouri Blue Shield Grant Program, the Henry County Sheriff's Office was awarded $29,069.76 to continue improving our operations.

We have now received the equipment purchased through this funding.

These investments include crime scene processing equipment, evidence collection and storage supplies, and Lexipol, a nationally recognized law enforcement policy and procedure management system.

These resources will help our deputies and detectives conduct thorough investigations, properly preserve evidence, and continue strengthening the policies and procedures that guide our daily operations.

We have made significant strides in equipment, technology, training, investigations, and professional development. Much of that progress has been made possible by actively pursuing grant opportunities that allow us to improve our operations while reducing the financial burden on local taxpayers.

We appreciate the Missouri Department of Public Safety, our community partners, and the employees who continue helping us move this office forward.

Deputy Saulters and Detective Baker conducted a follow-up investigation and s*x offender compliance check in the Clinton area. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Harold Rucker, age 48, of Clinton, on a 24-hour investigative hold for Failure to Register as a S*x Offender.

Within 24 hours, Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Gray filed formal charges, and a felony warrant was issued for Failure to Register as a S*x Offender.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞:
Deputy Napier and Deputy Stevens responded to a motor vehicle accident in the Windsor area involving a vehicle that had left the scene. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Terrin Blum, age 29, of Windsor, for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Property Damage. Blum allegedly struck a parked vehicle and fled the scene.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 – 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞:
Deputy McQueen and Deputy Harms responded to a neighbor dispute in the Windsor area. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Kenneth West, age 60, of Windsor, for Harassment – 1st Degree. West was allegedly intoxicated and threatened his neighbors.

Within 24 hours, Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Gray filed formal charges, and a felony warrant was issued for Harassment – 2nd Degree.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞:
Deputy Stevens conducted a traffic stop in the rural Deepwater area that resulted in the arrest of Carlos Domingo-Perez, age 27, of Memphis, Tennessee, for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid License.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝/𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭:
Master Sergeant Logan conducted a traffic stop in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Charlie Shockley for Driving While Suspended/Revoked and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest. Shockley allegedly failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens for several blocks before coming to a stop.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝/𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝, 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬:
Sheriff Brown and Captain Bilbruck conducted a traffic stop in the Calhoun area that resulted in the arrest of Gene Morrison, age 44, of Holden, for Driving While Suspended/Revoked.

Morrison also had several outstanding warrants from Johnson County and Cass County. The Johnson County warrants included felony warrants for Domestic Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with two misdemeanor warrants for Stealing. The Cass County felony warrant was for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

During the investigation, Morrison was allegedly found to be in possession of a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭:
Deputy Fisher and Deputy Hysom conducted a warrant service in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of William McNeil, age 53, of Windsor, on a Henry County warrant for traffic offenses.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭:
Samantha Gilbert, age 36, of Garden City, was arrested at the Henry County Sheriff's Office on a Henry County felony warrant for Non-Support.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭:
Captain Bilbruck and Sergeant Kubilus conducted a follow-up stealing investigation in the Kansas City area that resulted in the arrest of Jordan Steinfeld, age 25, of Kansas City, on a 24-hour investigative hold for Felony Stealing.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭:
Deputy Evans and Deputy Harms conducted a warrant service in the Windsor area that resulted in the arrest of Nanet Satrang, age 45, of Windsor, on a Henry County warrant for traffic offenses.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭:

Deputy Saulters conducted a traffic stop in the rural Clinton area that resulted in the arrest of Jeffrey Atkinson, age 43, of Lone Jack, for Driving Without a Valid License and on a Johnson County warrant for Property Damage.

𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝑴𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊-𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒖𝒊𝒕:

At approximately 4:59 p.m., Henry County law enforcement was notified of an active motorcycle pursuit originating in Cass County involving the Missouri State Highway Patrol. As the pursuit approached Henry County, HCSO deputies and assisting CPD officers positioned themselves at major intersections along the anticipated route to help protect motorists and minimize risks to the public.

The pursuit continued through Henry County and into St. Clair County, where the operator abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot near Highway TT and South Highway 13, south of Osceola. Following a brief foot pursuit, Junior E. Wingo, 20, of Springfield, was taken into custody without further incident.

Wingo was transported to the Cass County Jail and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for alleged felony fleeing, driving while revoked, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, no motorcycle endorsement, failure to display license plates, no insurance, careless and imprudent driving, and failure to signal. Formal charges remain subject to prosecutorial review in Cass County.

Sheriff Aaron Brown commends the Missouri State Highway Patrol for its professionalism and efforts throughout the pursuit and investigation. We also recognize Detective Kubilus for his communication and coordination of the pursuit while serving as the second vehicle, and Deputy Saulters for assisting. We extend our appreciation to St. Clair County Sheriff Hilty and deputies, the Clinton Police Department, and all assisting personnel for their coordination and efforts in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.

We also thank the public for their patience as officers temporarily controlled major intersections throughout Henry County to reduce the risk to uninvolved motorists.

During the latest reporting period, October 7–8, deputies handled 72 calls and activities, generating 5 offense reports.

Activity included 13 paper services, 11 traffic stops, 8 building checks, 8 public service calls, 7 follow-up investigations, and responses involving vehicle accidents, warrant services, suspicious activity, animal complaints, and other calls for service.
