🎬 Dickenson County Recovery Court’s First-Ever Alumni Meeting 🎬

We were honored to host the first-ever Dickenson County Recovery Court Alumni Meeting, bringing alumni, families, and supporters together for an evening of fellowship, encouragement, and the inspiring movie David, along with free popcorn and drinks.

A special thank you to the Jettie Baker Center for generously providing the venue and helping make this event possible.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Sarah Phillips and Jim Childress for helping make this evening so special. Thank you to Larry Barton and Chris Hall for attending and showing your support for our Recovery Court participants and alumni.

A heartfelt thank you to Dickenson County Behavioral Health Prevention Services for providing the goodies—the kids absolutely loved them!

Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to an anonymous donor whose generosity helped make this event a memorable one. Your kindness is truly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our very first alumni meeting. We look forward to many more opportunities to reconnect, celebrate milestones, and continue building a strong recovery community together.

🎓 Nathan Boyd

🎓 Carla Bradford

Today, we celebrate more than a graduation—we celebrate courage, hope, resilience, and new beginnings.

Each graduate has faced challenges that many will never fully understand. Through determination, accountability, and unwavering perseverance, you chose to keep moving forward even when the path was difficult. Every step you’ve taken has led to this incredible moment, and you have earned every bit of it.

Recovery isn’t about being perfect; it’s about choosing to get back up, learning from the past, and believing that your future can be brighter than your yesterday. Today is proof that change is possible and that hope is stronger than hardship.

To our graduates: Never forget how far you’ve come. Your story is one of strength, and your journey has the power to inspire others who are still finding their way. Continue to chase your goals, lean on your support system, and never stop believing in yourself.

To the families, friends, treatment providers, and community members who stood beside these graduates—thank you. Your encouragement, compassion, and belief made a lasting difference.

From all of us at Dickenson County Recovery Court, we are incredibly proud of you. Congratulations on this well-earned achievement, and here’s to the next chapter of your journey. The best is yet to come. 💙✨

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from Dickenson County Recovery Court! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy, we also recognize the courage it takes to pursue a life of recovery. Freedom isn’t just something we celebrate today—it’s something our participants work toward every single day through determination, accountability, and hope.

Whether you’re spending today with family, friends, or simply taking a moment to reflect, we wish you a safe, joyful, and meaningful Fourth of July.

Yesterday, June 6, 2026, the Dickenson County Recovery Court had the privilege of partnering with the American Red Cross and Haysi Fire Department to help make our community safer.

Together, we installed 131 smoke alarms in 52 homes and provided fire safety education to 131 community members. These simple steps can save lives and help families be better prepared in the event of an emergency.

We are incredibly grateful to the Red Cross and the Haysi Fire Department for their kindness, hospitality, and dedication to serving our community. They welcomed our participants, provided meals, shared valuable knowledge, and treated everyone with respect and encouragement throughout the day.

Recovery is about giving back, building stronger communities, and creating positive change. We are proud of our participants for their hard work and commitment to serving others.

Thank you to everyone who made this meaningful day possible!

Today, the participants of the Dickenson County Recovery Court proudly wore shirts they created themselves with the message:

“A better life started with one choice; choose recovery.”

These shirts represent more than words — they represent strength, growth, second chances, and the courage it takes to make positive changes each day. Recovery is not always easy, but every step forward is something to be proud of.

Our participants chose to wear these shirts today not only to celebrate their own journeys, but also to encourage others who may be struggling and to show support for everyone walking the path of recovery.

Recovery is possible. Hope is real. And no one has to walk this journey alone. 💜
