As Labor Day comes to a close, DCAS would like to thank our colleagues at LifeCare Ambulance Service for coming to the rescue of our patients and crew during the early morning hours of Labor Day. While transporting a patient, our unit became disabled due to a tire failure on Route 23 in Norton. A single call to our friends at LifeCare resulted in their crew, Joshua Dewayne Church and Ronnie Rasnake responding and providing a safe rife for our patient, while he remained under the expert care of our paramedic, for the remainder of his trip to Norton Community Hospital.
That's not where the story ends. The LifeCare crew contacted thier supervisor, Andrew Rose and he then contacted Danny C. Boggs, one of the partners at LifeCare. Danny not only allowed his crew to come back and help us change our tire, he loaned us a extra spare from their station, so that we didn't have to try and free up the spare located under our ambulance in the dark.
This is what you call true kindness and cooperation. This is the spirit of EMS-people helping people. Thank you LifeCare, and thanks to Danny, Andrew, Josh, and Ronnie. You men put the care of the patient first, and then the care of your fellow EMS workers a close second.
