💻📱 Happy Digital Citizenship Week! 📱💻
In a world where so much of our learning, communication and connection happens online, being a good digital citizen matters!
During Digital Citizenship Week, we’re reminding our students that what we do online reflects who we are offline. Being a responsible digital citizen means thinking before you post, protecting your personal information, treating others with kindness and respect, and using technology in positive and productive ways.
Let’s help our students become confident, responsible and respectful citizens — both in the classroom and in the digital world. 💚🍀

🍀 The Heart of Our Schools
Every great school has a heartbeat — and so much of that heartbeat comes from the leader at the center of it all.
October is National Principals Month, and throughout the month, we’re celebrating the principals who lead with purpose, serve with heart and make a difference in the lives of students, staff and families every day.
Our principals do so much more than lead from an office. They greet students at the door, support teachers, celebrate accomplishments, solve problems, build relationships and create school communities where every child can thrive.
They are advocates. Encouragers. Problem-solvers. Culture-builders. Champions for kids.
Today, we hear from Principal Calub Courtwright on what he loves about Lake Wylie High School. ❤️🍀
Happy National Principals Month to our amazing school leaders!

💚 Happy Boss’s Day! 💚
Today, we’re celebrating the leaders across our school district who guide, support and inspire the people who make our schools great.
Great leadership is about more than making decisions — it’s about listening, encouraging, serving and creating opportunities for others to succeed. We’re grateful for the principals, assistant principals, district leaders and supervisors who show up every day for our students, staff and families.
Thank you for leading with heart, purpose and a commitment to our students! 🍀

It's always a great time when our youngest learners and high school students have an opportunity to come together for an important lesson.

Today, students in Kayla Cook's preschool class joined students in Chief Scott Boyd's Fire Science II class at the Center for Career Innovation to learn about fire safety.

Teaching fire safety is part of the Fire Science II curriculum and is a skill tested during the certification exam. The preschoolers donned special fire helmets and set straight to learning.

The Fire Science students demonstrated tools on their fire truck and gave each student a chance to sit in the seat. They showed students how they put on their gear and taught them not to be afraid of fire fighters wearing masks to keep them safe. They explained to students why it is important to have a plan for exiting your home in the event of a fire and demonstrated how to stop, drop and roll.

A special thank you to the Bethel Fire Department for bringing out the smoke trailer to simulate a house on fire.

And, of course, the students wrapped up their visit by taking a turn spraying the fire hose.
