This week, we are passing the MVP chain to Mrs. MacNab, our 5th grade Teaching Assistant!

Mrs. MacNab goes above and beyond each day to support our staff and students. She is always finding ways to make a difference, not only for our 5th graders, but for students throughout our school. She even finds her own ways to incentivize and celebrate our kiddos while continuing to encourage them and guide them in the right direction.

Whether she is helping with a big task or jumping in to help with the little things, Mrs. MacNab is always willing to lend a hand wherever she is needed. She truly cares about our students and staff, and we appreciate the heart she puts into everything she does!

Congratulations, Mrs. MacNab, and thank you for all you do for our Oakridge family!

The next OES MVP is one of our 4th graders, Lucas! He consistently demonstrates what it means to be Eagle P.R.O.U.D. through his kindness, perseverance, responsibility, and willingness to help others. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to a peer or teacher. He consistently does the right thing, even when no one is watching. Way to go, Lucas!

The media center turned into game central last night! Mrs. Dickson's class left their stuffed animals with Dr. Andrew, and the fun started as soon as the lights went down. There was lots of reading, computer games, building blocks, and maybe a round or two of hide-and-seek between the bookshelves. Can you spot everyone in the photos? These stuffies definitely know how to have a good time!

WBTV's Lunchbox Weather recently stopped by Oakridge Elementary for some hands-on weather science with a First Alert meteorologist! Our students had a blast exploring how weather works and seeing how what they learn in the classroom connects to the real world.

WBTV also gave a shout-out to the life skills our Eagles practice every day: being responsible and organized, communicating well, owning their work, advocating for themselves, and learning from their mistakes. We couldn't be prouder!

Hey Dads! It's almost time for our THIRD All Pro Dad meeting at Oakridge on Oct. 26 at 7:15 in Room 307! All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage with their kids in 2nd-5th grade! There will be fun activities and a character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations with their kids. We would love to see you there. This is limited to the first 50 people (children must be in 2nd-5th grade) to sign up. If you would like to come, please RSVP at allprodadchapters.com

We are so excited to pass the MVP Chain to Mrs. Rothaupt, our amazing school counselor! Mrs. Rothaupt is always behind the scenes, making things happen for our students and staff. Whether she is supporting students, helping families, or jumping in wherever she is needed, she does it all with a caring heart and a commitment to helping our Eagles succeed.

Kian is the latest recipient of the MVP award. He is an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond to support both his peers and staff. Kian possesses an exceptionally kind heart and an innate ability to notice when someone is in need. Recently, while in the dance holding room, where Kian volunteers his time to help, Kian noticed a second grader who was having a difficult time making friends. Kian didn’t forget about this. Later that day, during lunch buddies, Kian went right over and asked the same student to have lunch with him. It was an extremely kind gesture from the bottom of his heart. Kian is always looking out for everybody, showing what it truly means to be EAGLE PROUD.
