Fire Prevention Week

10/07/2026

Today we spent the afternoon at Riverbend Elementary School teaching fire prevention we always enjoy seeing all of the kids excited and ready to learn not only about fire prevention but also about what we do.

A few of the topics for this Fire prevention week

- learning addresses and how to call 911
- extension cords and battery Fire safety
- Smoke Detectors
- some of the tools used in the modern fire service

Our hope is that during this time of Fire Prevention folks will make sure your home has working smoke detecters, check them and change your batteries. Ensure that charging cables and batteries are maintained and in good working order. Check home heating appliances and ensure they are in good working order and being used in their intended manner, be sure that you have working CO detectors in the home.

If you need or know someone who needs assistance with Smoke Detectors please let us know.

We are Pleased to officially announce that our inspection from the State Fire Marshal’s office resulted in maintaining the lowered ISO rating.

For those who do not know this rating is used to gauge the homeowners insurance rate at which you are charged for your homeowners insurance premiums. This lower rating saves each homeowner money whose property falls within the mileage requirements for this rating.

We would like to thank each and everyone of our members both current and past who helped build and mold this Department into the one it is today. This rating takes a lot of work and dedication to achieve and maintain.
