Día de los Mu***os – Full Grave Decorations
A friendly reminder that full grave decorations are permitted for Día de los Mu***os beginning today. Full grave decorations may remain in place through Wednesday, November 4. Please remember that our normal safety restrictions remain in force. Glass items and open flames are prohibited at all gravesites. Decorations may not exceed 36 inches in height and must remain within the designated gravesite. Please be considerate of neighboring gravesites and avoid encroaching on them.

We look forward to seeing the beautiful tributes our families create as we come together to celebrate Día de los Mu***os.

**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**
Annual Fall Turf Renovation & Memorial Item Schedule

The Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District will begin its annual fall turf renovation following Día de los Mu***os. This process includes scalping the existing grass, overseeding, and preparing our grounds for healthy winter growth. This year's schedule is compressed due to Día de los Mu***os and Veterans Day. To accommodate both celebrations while completing this important maintenance, the District has established the following schedule:

November 2: No mowing in observance of Día de los Mu***os.

November 4: All memorial items must be removed by the end of the day for scalping.

November 5–10: Turf scalping. No memorial items permitted on cemetery grounds.

November 11–12: Memorial items permitted in observance of Veterans Day. All items must be removed by the end of the day on November 12.

November 13–24: Overseeding and winter turf establishment. No memorial items permitted on cemetery grounds.

November 25: Memorial items may be returned to cemetery grounds.

We understand that placing flowers and other memorial items is an important way families honor their loved ones. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we balance these traditions with the maintenance necessary to keep our cemetery grounds beautiful year-round.

Events, mowing days, and memorial item restriction days may also be viewed on the calendar located on our home page at CVPCD.org.

Road Repair Update:
A section of roadway on the west side of the cemetery had gradually settled over time, creating a noticeable dip in the road. District staff recently removed the concrete patch, filled the recessed area with gravel, and applied asphalt to create a smoother surface for vehicles traveling through the area.

As a reminder, complete road repair and construction is anticipated in the next 3-6 months, pending the release of approved federal funding. The District will continue to update the community on the status of that project.
