The City of Cochran Police Department, serving a daytime population of approximately 7,500 people, is a full service law enforcement agency dedicated to preserving life, protecting property, and maintaining order. UPDATE: SUBJECT IN CUSTODY

The individual we were searching for in the Crest Drive area has been located and is now in law enforcement custody.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, cooperation, and assistance during this incident. Great work by our deputies and law enforcement partners in bringing this situation to a safe conclusion!

🚨 LAW ENFORCEMENT PRESENCE – PLEASE BE AWARE 🚨

The Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office currently has an increased law enforcement presence in the area of Crest Drive near Highway 126 and the Highway 87 Bypass.

Deputies are actively searching for the individual pictured below after he fled from a traffic stop. The individual was last seen wearing a Dr Pepper hoodie and blue pajama pants. He also has active warrants out of Fayetteville, Georgia.

We want to reassure everyone that there is no known danger to the public at this time. However, residents in the area may notice additional law enforcement activity as deputies continue their search.

If you see this individual or have information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office, either by calling 911 or 478-934-4545. We ask that you do not approach him yourself.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to locate this individual.

On behalf of the Cochran Police Department and the City of Cochran, I would like to thank The Citizens Bank of Cochran for the generous donations your bank have provided to the Cochran Police Department. Without your support, we would not have been able to obtain much-needed equipment for our officers in such a timely manner.
Your most recent donation of $10,000 will allow the police department to replace several pieces of outdated or damaged equipment, acquire additional training tools, and expand the capabilities of our fi****ms simulator. These improvements will further enhance our officers' ability to respond effectively to any situation they may encounter.
Words cannot adequately express the gratitude I feel, as Chief of the Cochran Police Department, for the extraordinary generosity you have shown our agency over the past year. Please join us in a massive congratulations to Chief Jeff Trawick for celebrating 30 incredible years with the City of Cochran.

Last night, Chief Trawick was recognized at the City Council meeting for his three decades of unwavering dedication and leadership. We want to extend a special thank you to City Manager Angela Redding for presenting the Chief with his official 30-year service plaque and for her kind words of support.

While he has spent the last 30 years protecting and serving our community, he isn't hanging up the badge just yet! Chief Trawick is continuing his service to keep our city moving forward! If you know him, you know he is not one to sit still for long. When he isn’t leading our agency, you can usually find him out on the open road riding his motorcycle, working out on the farm, or tending to his beloved chickens. 🐔🏍️🌾

Thank you, Chief, for your tireless dedication, sacrifice, and for making Cochran a safer, better place to live. We are honored to serve alongside you!
