Sorensen PTO is a group of committed parents and teachers working together to support Sorensen Magne They should include revision and reflection time.

At Sorensen, we value the process of arts integrated instruction as much as the final products student create. It is our intention to get better at sharing the amazing work of students' with classrooms, parents, and our community. Arts integrated projects should demonstrate evidence of student learning. They should involve peer sharing, self-evaluations, and connections to big ideas. We look forward to finding creative ways to share these learning stories!

Coupon books are finally headed home and our fundraiser is officially underway! We wanted to send a friendly reminder that it’s not too late to participate and we need your help!

Another round of permission slips are headed home today and we are adding another class reward prize to encourage participation. If every family who has yet to participate sells just ONE book we will be able to meet our goal!

This is our PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year, and the funds raised help support our school, teachers, and students. Every little bit adds up!

Please note that Deadlines have been updated:

FIRST DEADLINE-TUE. NOV. 3RD

-Class with most books sold and money turned in wins an ice cream party and $25 Amazon gift card for their teacher

FINAL DEADLINE-THUR. NOV. 19TH

-Class with most books sold for K-2 and 3-5 wins a pizza party and $25 for each teacher

🎃 Halloween Dance! 👻
Get ready for a fun-filled night of Halloween festivities at school! Kids are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy an evening of dancing, playing and creating with their school friends.

In the gym:

In the art room:
🎨 Halloween craft
🖍️ Coloring
🧱 LEGO

Cost: $4 per child or $10 per family. Donations are always welcome!

This is a family event, not a drop-off event, so all children must have an adult with them for the evening.

🎃 Want to help?
We’re looking for parent volunteers to help with the dessert auction, craft, coloring activities and welcome/payment table. We’re also accepting donations of desserts for the auction and supplies for the craft, including paper plates, Halloween stickers, construction paper, glue sticks, markers and popsicle sticks.

🍕Sorensen Restaurant Night is heading somewhere new!🍕

Our next fundraiser is with Papa Murphy’s on Government Way, a locally owned franchise run by a Sorensen family. We’re excited to support one of our own school families while raising money for Sorensen at the same time.

Papa Murphy’s will donate 25% of participating purchases back to Sorensen!

There are two easy ways to order ahead:
Order online and use code GIVE25 at checkout.
Call in your order for pickup, then bring the Sorensen fundraiser voucher with you when you pay.
NOTE: Ordering ahead online or by phone is encouraged to help keep pickup moving and wait times short.

The fundraiser flyer/voucher is attached with all the details. This voucher also went home with students two days ago. If you need a new voucher, there are extras at the front office.

Our coupon books were delayed but they should be here soon!

If you’ve already turned in your permission slip, don’t worry—your books should be coming home soon. If you haven’t turned yours in yet, please get it submitted, and we’ll send your books home as soon as they arrive.

In the meantime, start reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors to see who would like to grab a book (or two)! Here are a few great ways to sell:

• Post on social media – Ask parents to share with friends and family.
• Door knock – With a parent, visit your neighbors and spread the word.
• Own a business? Keep a few books available for your customers to purchase.
• Christmas gifts & stocking stuffers – These make great gifts!
• Stock up – Keep a few on hand for family and visitors who may want one.

We’ll still have over a month to sell, so there’s plenty of time to make this a very successful fundraiser! Thank you for helping make it a great one!
