We're excited to announce that Christine Ortiz, interior designer and Philipstown local, will be here on Sunday, October 25th at 12:30pm for her presentation "Why Your Home Feels “Off” - and the 5 Design Decisions That Fix It".

Why does your home sometimes feel “off” even when you can’t quite explain why? In this engaging presentation, interior designer Christine Ortiz will show you how to look at your space through a designer’s eyes and identify the five key design decisions that make a room feel comfortable, cohesive, and distinctly yours: Function, Flow, Scale, Light, and Personality. You’ll walk away with a simple framework for seeing what’s missing in your space — and knowing what needs to change.

Calling all fans of Clue and Agatha Christie - join us for a fun mystery-solving evening at the Butterfield Library.
Our Clue IRL Halloween Party is on Friday, October 30th from 6-7:30pm. Help us solve the mystery of who damaged our most valuable book in a spooky-fun game of IRL (in real life) Clue! Dress as your favorite literary character, or show up in your most colorful outfit. *Adults aged 18 and up.* Refreshments will be served. Registration required.

We did a REV 250 Storytime at The Putnam Museum's Hudson Highlands History Festival to explore the history, places & personalities that built our nation in Putnam County, New York.
We read the book, 'The Ride - The Legend of Betty Dowdy' by Kitty Griffin.
Then we acted out her heroic adventure, with a surprise from a fox that resulted in her being thrown off her horse. Luckily there were floor pillows to soften the landing.

Exciting new update! Our upcoming Revolutionary War Trivia program on October 16 at 6:30pm will now feature a special prize: two sets of two complimentary tickets to the very first play reading of INTENT at the Fall Benefit at the Paramount Theater Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill, NY (Sunday, October 18 at 2pm).

Written by Mona Z. Smith Mona Z Smith and directed by Traci Mariano, INTENT is inspired by one of the most famous espionage plots in American history. In the play, the true story of the famous British spy, Major John André, is interwoven with the fictional story of Katje, a widowed tavern worker whose son joined the rebellion and is now missing in action. Set in a time when our nation was divided against itself in a deadly clash of convictions, this play explores the intersection between high-stakes politics and the raw grief of families losing fathers, brothers, and sons to a relentless, brutal war.

A cast of seven actors (Patrick Halley, Carl Howell, Sean McNall, Ryan Quinn, Kurt Rhoads, Chris Thorn, & Nance Williamson) plays 20+ characters, including such noted Revolutionary War figures as André, Benedict Arnold, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, General Nathanael Greene, Benjamin Tallmadge, and the Marquis de Lafayette.

These dogs are trained to listen with a calm, attentive manner
that is less intimidating for young children learning to read.
The R.E.A.D program's mission is to improve the literacy skills
for children K-3rd grade.
