PUTNAM COUNTY SHRED FEST: SATURDAY, 10/24/2026
Have you been saving up stacks of sensitive documents ready to be safely shredded? NY State Senator Rob Rolison's office invites you to "SHRED FEST." Sen. Rolison's team will be on hand to assist at Putnam Valley Elementary School Campus from 9:00 AM and 12:00 NOON, October 24, 2026--or until the truck is full.

WHO: All Putnam County residents who want to dispose of paperwork containing sensitive information are welcome to attend--first come, first served.

IMPORTANT NOTES: NO PLASTIC, METAL, or CARDBOARD will be allowed to enter the shred truck. THE EVENT WILL BE DRIVE-THRU STYLE: Residents can stay in their cars, pull up to the truck, and the Senator's team will unload everything for you.

The Village of Cold Spring is seeking a SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD to assist Haldane Central School District.

The pay rate is $20 per hour. Candidates must be 18 years or older to apply.

The Village of Cold Spring's Fall Bulk Pickup 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, through Royal Carting/Casella. Residents are asked to have 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗯𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵.

The Cold Spring Cemetery Association will be paving portions of the Rural Cemetery on Peekskill Road tomorrow, Thursday 10/15 and potentially on Friday 10/16.

During this work, the cemetery will be closed to visitors. The Association thanks you for your understanding and cooperation.

NOTICE: TEMPORARY NO PARKING RESTRICTIONS: ROCK STREET, MAIN STREET, 9D/CHESTNUT STREET
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2026

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: TEMPORARY NO PARKING restrictions will be in effect on parts of ROCK STREET, MAIN STREET, and ROUTE 9D/CHESTNUT STREET, THURSDAY MORNING, 10/15/2026.

Contractors are scheduled to spray pavement markings and line striping on sections of ROCK STREET and MAIN STREET, THURSDAY MORNING, 10/15/2026. Work will begin at Rock Street and proceed eastward up Main Street to the Cold Spring Fire Co. No. 1 driveway/parking lot. Crews will also be working on catch basins at CHESTNUT STREET and at the firehouse corner of CHURCH STREET / MAIN STREET. Please observe cones and signage and be aware of workers as Village roadwork projects proceed.

The Village of Cold Spring would like to inform residents that Fall Bulk Pickup will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, through Royal Carting/Casella.

Following this October pickup, bulk pickup will revert to Spring, likely in April. The Village will provide additional updates as the next pickup date approaches.
