Vector Rescue

10/23/2026

This week was all about snow! We spent the week at two resorts in the Green Mountain State preparing for the upcoming season.

One thing worth highlighting: the value of live victims in rescue training.

This patroller volunteered to be rescued following a simulated fall arrest. Hanging from your dorsal attachment point while someone works to rescue you stinks. Trust us, we’ve done it.

But there’s no substitute for firsthand experience. Understanding what a victim is going through makes you a better rescuer.

Another day keeping workers safe in Beantown.

As always, our team is deeply involved in the operation—not just standing by for the rescue. We work alongside the crews, understand the process, identify hazards, and help solve problems.

Prevention is easier than rescue.

If we know anyone at YOSAR, drop us a line. We need to make this happen.

Behind every great day on the mountain is a team most people never see. We just spent the last two days with the lift maintenance crew at Mount Southington Ski Area, delivering work-at-height and tower rescue training. An absolute group of rock stars who take tremendous pride in their work and quietly keep the fun going safely for everyone else. Thanks for the opportunity—looking forward to working together again soon.
