K9 Krino and his human partner, Officer Saxe, are in Murfreesboro this week for an intensive Mantrailing and Human Remains Detection workshop hosted by the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA).

Throughout the 40-hour course, the team is working alongside experienced NNDDA instructors in hands-on training focused on following human scent trails and detecting human remains. These skills support some of law enforcement’s most important work: finding missing people, supporting investigations, and helping families get answers.

Behind every deployment are hours of practice, patience, and trust between a dog and his handler. Krino and Officer Saxe are putting in that work to better serve our community.

Join us in giving this hardworking team some encouragement while they're out of town! 💙🐾

🇺🇸❤️ HONORING SERVICE WITH A GIFT FROM THE HEART! ❤️🇺🇸

Some thank-yous are extra special, and this one was stitched together with love and a whole lot of heart. 🧵🪡

During Monday night’s City Commission meeting, Officer Alec Hood was honored with a handmade quilt from the Greenbriar Cove chapter of Quilts of Valor, a veterans support organization dedicated to recognizing and showing appreciation for those who have served our country. 🇺🇸

Each quilt represents more than warmth. It’s a tangible reminder that a military veteran’s service, sacrifice, and dedication are not forgotten, and that a grateful community stands behind them.

We’re incredibly grateful to Quilts of Valor for this meaningful gesture and for the care and appreciation stitched into every quilt. ❤️

Officer Hood, thank you for your service and your commitment to others. You are appreciated more than words can say!

Join us in congratulating Officer Hood and thanking Quilts of Valor for this beautiful tribute! 👏🏽🇺🇸

Today, we honor the memory of James County Deputy Sheriff William Bartlett McIntosh, who was killed in the line of duty on this day in 1919. He is the only known law enforcement officer to have lost their life in the line of duty within the city limits of what is now the City of Collegedale.

Deputy McIntosh, pictured here with his family, was killed in a gunfight while bravely leading a posse to confront two highway bandits robbing travelers near the Lee Highway area known as Dead Man’s Curve. He is laid to rest in the Ooltewah Cemetery.

We remember his courage, his service, and the ultimate sacrifice he made for the safety of our community.
