🚒🔥 Kids Fire Camp 2026 🔥🚒

This week, the Colleyville Fire Department is proud to host 30 campers, ages 9-14, at our annual Kids Fire Camp!

Throughout the week, campers will get an inside look at the fire service through hands-on activities, fire safety education, emergency preparedness training, team-building exercises, and plenty of opportunities to work alongside our firefighters. From learning about our apparatus and equipment to experiencing some of the skills firefighters use every day, these young participants are getting a firsthand look at what it takes to serve and protect a community.

Kids Fire Camp is one of our favorite traditions because it allows us to connect with local families, promote fire and life safety, and hopefully inspire a few future firefighters along the way.

A huge thank you to our firefighters and staff who volunteer their time and energy to make this program possible. We look forward to a great week of learning, fun, and unforgettable experiences!

For the fifth consecutive year we have been recognized by the American Heart Association with the 2026 Mission: Lifeline® EMS Gold Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Heart Attack Honor Roll distinction for its commitment to providing rapid, evidence-based care to patients experiencing heart attacks and strokes.

The Mission: Lifeline EMS recognition program honors emergency medical service agencies that demonstrate excellence in prehospital cardiac and stroke care by following the latest treatment guidelines and improving outcomes for patients in their communities.

This recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of our firefighters and paramedics who provide exceptional emergency medical care every day. The Gold Achievement Award recognizes sustained success in applying the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS quality improvement measures. The additional Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Heart Attack Honor Roll distinctions recognize superior performance in rapidly identifying and treating stroke and cardiac patients to improve survival and recovery outcomes.

The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline initiative focuses on improving systems of care for patients experiencing severe heart attacks and strokes by strengthening coordination between EMS agencies and hospitals.

On May 12th we held the ribbon cutting for our new training center at the Central Fire Station, dedicated to Captain Stoody. Captain Stoody’s service began in Colleyville as a volunteer before 1980 and he became the city’s first career firefighter in 1984. Captain Stoody was over fire department training upon his retirement in 2005.

This building was primarily funded by our deployment efforts across the state where we assist with wildland fires and other emergencies through EMTF. We are excited and grateful to have this building and take our trainings to a new level to provide the best service possible for the citizens of Colleyville! 🚒

The Colleyville Fire Department and the City of Colleyville Government are proud to partner with the Rotary Club of Colleyville! Our expired bunker gear was donated to the Rotary, who will deliver it to other departments and communities in need.

Today Mayor Bobby Lindamood and Mayor Pro Tem Brandi Elder were on hand to help deliver the gear to Rotary District Governor Jon Bullock. Our bunker gear is replaced once it reaches expiration date, but we are thrilled that it can be put to use in other applications. Thank you, Colleyville Rotary, for your partnership and all you do both locally and globally!
