Little chairs, fire trucks, and a little fire safety fun at KinderCare! 🚒🐾

Last week, Sparky, Assistant Fire Marshal Andy Skic, Fire Inspector Rashad Weathers, Fire Education Specialist Jessica Curran, and the crew of Engine 82 (Lt Bobby Echlin, Driver Mike Bartlow, Firefighter Jereon Hunt) stopped by KinderCare for a special visit!

Students got an up-close look at the gear our firefighters wear, checked out Engine 82, and learned a little more about what firefighters do. Sparky and Firefighter Jereon Hunt even showed off a few dance moves!

Thanks for spending part of your day with us, KinderCare!

Today was a perfect day for training and spending time with our community! ☀️🚒

The sunshine and cooler temperatures made for a great day of aerial training at Firehouse 6, while the crew from Engine 82 spent the morning at Lowe's Home Improvement hanging out with some of our young friends, showing off the fire engine, and helping them build wooden fire planes!

A great fall Saturday in Collierville!

🚒 Help us congratulate two of the newest faces at Collierville Fire & Rescue!

Paramedics Michael Berra and Ben Quigley recently completed their 16-hour Introduction to Firefighting course!

Michael and Ben recently joined Collierville Fire as Paramedics and will complete their full firefighter training at a later date. While they will be assigned to the ambulance full-time until that training is complete, this introductory course provides them with foundational firefighting knowledge and skills that will allow them to safely assist our crews on the fireground when needed.

We are excited to have Michael and Ben as part of the Collierville Fire & Rescue family and look forward to watching them continue to grow in their new roles.

Congratulations, Michael and Ben, and welcome to Collierville! 🚒👏

Did you happen to notice fire apparatus at the new TownePlace Suites this week? 🚒

This week, our Fire Marshal’s Office coordinated visits for personnel across all three shifts to tour the newly constructed TownePlace Suites hotel. Crews had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the building’s fire sprinkler and alarm systems, identify important building features, and practice aerial ladder access.

While you may see our firefighters responding to emergencies, a lot of the work that goes into keeping our community safe happens long before a 911 call is made.

Getting familiar with buildings before an emergency allows our crews to better understand what they may encounter and how to respond safely and efficiently when every second counts.

Thank you to TownePlace Suites for welcoming our crews and providing this valuable training opportunity

Today’s Fire Prevention Week adventures took us from some of our youngest community members to some of our more seasoned residents!

The crew from Ladder 86 and our Fire Education Specialist stopped by Kiddie Academy to talk with the kids about how firefighters help people and the protective gear we wear to keep us safe on the job.

Meanwhile, over at The Renley of Collierville, the crew from Engine 83 and our Fire Education Specialist spent time with residents talking about safe charging habits, fall prevention, and ways to stay safe at home. We were also treated to a delicious lunch!

Different ages, different safety messages, but the same goal: keeping our Collierville community safe at every stage of life.

A big thank you to Kiddie Academy and The Renley for welcoming us and helping make Fire Prevention Week such a great one! ❤️🚒

Sparky The Fire Dog was on a mission this week! 🐾🔥

Sparky and Fire Education Specialist Jessica Curran had a great time taking over Town Hall, saying hello to our Town of Collierville staff and checking in on their safe charging habits!

We are happy to report that Sparky found plenty of friendly faces and opportunities to spread a little fire safety knowledge along the way!

Remember, Safe Charging Is Your Superpower! 🔋⚡

We had the best time last week kicking off Fire Prevention Week a little early with the Collierville Fire Department! 🚒📚

A huge thank you to the real-life heroes who visited the Morton Museum to read stories to our young guests and share important fire safety tips. Of course, the absolute highlight of the morning was getting to head outside and explore Firetruck 81 inside and out!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a fun, educational morning, and a special shoutout to the Collierville Fire Department for everything you do to keep our community safe.
