Clipper: July 16, 1896
It is a source of such satisfaction to the people of this neighborhood that the fire did not spread from the Creamery building to other buildings. Hardly any air was stirring and that was from the southwest. The corncribs and elevator were in most danger but no damage was suffered by either. Had the wind been in the east, the consequences might have been dreadful. The town would have been almost swept out of existence, unless a miracle had intervened. The question of fire protection is now in order…. The first thing we propose is that a fire company be organized.

Meet our team! Cory Sievers is our fire chief. He has been with us since 2010 and chief since 2024. Cory has been a very active member of our crew and has helped so much by using his background in sales to help acquire equipment and trucks. He supports his community and loves his family. We appreciate his dedication and leadership skills.
