👮‍♂️ Happy Boss’s Day to Chief Powless! 🎉

Being a great leader is about finding that perfect balance, and Chief Powless has a way of doing just that!

He brings a strong sense of professionalism to the Colona Police Department, always striving for growth, learning, and self-improvement for himself and our officers. He believes in moving the department forward while encouraging those around him to be their best.

But what makes him special is that he never takes himself too seriously! 😂 His sense of humor is one of a kind, and his ability to laugh at himself makes him not only a great boss but someone people genuinely enjoy being around.

Chief Powless is also a true people person and one of the first to volunteer his own personal time to support community projects, lend a hand at local events, and be involved in the community he serves. He understands that being a police chief is about more than leading a department; it’s about building relationships and making a difference.

Today, we celebrate a boss who leads with professionalism, a sense of humor, a willingness to grow, and a genuine heart for his community. ❤️

Happy Boss’s Day, Chief Powless! Thank you for your leadership, your dedication, and for everything you do for our department and the Colona community. We appreciate you! 👏💙

UPDATE: Dogs are home, owners have claimed them. Thank you!

⁉️⁉️It remains a mystery to us why these two havent been claimed yet!

It’s been almost a week since they were picked up together in Colona.

They are clean, well taken care of, well mannered, both wearing collars which doesn’t make sense to us why no one has called us.

Please help us if you know any information on them🐾❤️

💙 THANK YOU, COLONA COMMUNITY! 💙

Our officers were treated to some DELICIOUS brisket from Highland Pack — and let us just say… it did NOT last long! 😋🔥

And a huge thank-you to Tracy at Blackhawk Bank for the yummy chocolate-chip stuffed cookie celebrating Blackhawk Bank’s 65th birthday! 🍪🎉

We truly appreciate the businesses and community members who think of our officers and take the time to show your support. ❤️

It’s gestures like these that remind us just how special the Colona community is. We love when our community thinks of us — and we’re always grateful for the kindness, support and, of course, the delicious treats! 😂👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

Happy 65th Birthday, Blackhawk Bank! 🎂
And thank you, Highland Pack, for keeping our officers well-fed!

🐾🚨 DOUBLE TROUBLE! 🚨🐾

Apparently, these two decided they were going on an adventure together… unfortunately, they didn’t have a destination !!😂🐶🐶

Our officers picked up these two pups running loose together, and they are now safe and sound in our shelter.

We’re guessing they’d much rather be back home than spending the day explaining their travel plans to us! 😆

👉 Do you recognize them or know their owners? Please give us a call!

Let’s get these two escape artists back home where they belong! 🏡🐾

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ WELCOME, HENNEPIN 100! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Colona is excited to welcome runners, support crews, family members and visitors from all across the country as the Hennepin 100 Ultra Trail Race gets underway! 🇺🇸🌳

As everyone begins arriving in our area today (Friday), please be aware of increased foot and vehicle traffic, especially around Route 84 and the Hennepin Canal.

📍 Race Packet Pick-Up begins at 4:00 PM along the canal, just down from the fire station, and continues until 6:00 PM.

📚 A race safety meeting will also be held at Colona School, so foot traffic in the area will be heavier than usual during this time. If you’re traveling along Route 84, please slow down, stay alert and watch carefully for pedestrians .🚗⚠️

The Hennepin 100 is an incredible event that brings people from all over the country to our community, and we are proud to welcome them to Colona! We’re especially happy that they continue to choose our city as the packet pick-up location AND the finish line for the 100 mile and 50k 🏁❤️

To all of the runners—good luck, stay safe, and enjoy our scenic Hennepin Canal! We hope you enjoy your time in Colona and the surrounding area.

And remember, we’re here if you need us! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

WELCOME TO COLONA & GOOD LUCK, HENNEPIN 100! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏁
