Engine 12-3 and Deputy Chief 12-0-2 responded to Iselin yesterday and assisted in fire suppression.
Great job by all responders.
On October 17 at 1:28 pm, Iselin District 11 firefighters were alerted to a residential fire alarm on Devon Road. While enroute, the call was upgraded to a working garage fire. Fire Dispatch transmitted the all hands assignment, summoning Iselin #9 & Colonia Fire Departments. Ladder 11 arrived, made entry to the home, and began the suppression effort with a 1.75" hoseline. It was reported that one resident, who was initially reported as trapped, was able to seek egress through a rear door.
Assistant Chief Paul Silletti took command and filled the first alarm assignment at 1:34 pm. Mutual Aid companies assisted in overhaul, ventilation, and repacking fire hose. There were no serious injuries reported and all companies were back in service by 4:00 pm. We thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance.
