🔔 INFO: Airport Road overpass near West Gate

🔔 The Colorado Department of Transportation diverging diamond interchange project at Powers Boulevard and Airport Road is slated to partially open Feb. 25.

🔔 The opening includes a major traffic pattern change. In anticipation of the opening, drivers should expect flagger controls and restriping of the lanes approaching the intersection. Southbound Powers Boulevard and eastbound Airport Road traffic entering Peterson Space Force Base will use the overpass, as well as westbound Airport Road traffic leaving the base (see diagram).

🔔 Because of ongoing construction, detours will be required for some turning movements. Please drive carefully and obey speed limits in this active construction area.

🔔 North Gate construction update
The slip exit lane from northbound Peterson Road to eastbound Space Village Avenue will permanently close on Monday, Feb. 23 as part of the ongoing safety improvement project in the area.

🔔 Drivers will need to use the signalized intersection to make an eastbound turn during construction.

🔔 Additionally, the northbound lanes from Peterson Space Force Base North Gate to Space Village Avenue will be open alternately to accommodate travelers. This work is expected to last through Friday, Feb. 27. Drivers are encouraged to monitor local traffic signs for the latest information.

🔔 The project reconstructs the Highway 24 and Peterson Road Interchange to provide a safer, more secure, and efficient transition to the Peterson Space Force Base North Gate. Starting Monday, September 29, the Irwin Gate inbound lane will close at 5 p.m. The outbound lane will remain open until 7 p.m., when the gate normally closes.

The Enoch gate will remain open for inbound and outbound traffic 24/7.
