Summer is here and Betty is back on the streets! This month she'll be at French Elementary and Sunrise Elementary during free summer lunches, as well as Saturdays at the Square on June 13th! Betty's schedule is always changing so keep an eye out for added or changed dates and times!

We're collecting backpacks for WSD3's Backpack Drive through June 30th! 17-inch backpacks are preferred as they fit Chromebooks. All backpack donations can be dropped off in our donation box located in the main area of the library. All backpacks will be distributed to students at the WSD3 Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 25th.

Join SPL’s Junk Journaling crafting group! We meet every 3rd Saturday of the month from 2 - 4 p.m. Bring your own journal and supplies, or use supplies provided by the library (our supplies may be limited). Whether you’re a long-time junk journaling ju**ie or brand new, all are welcome! Ages 18 and up.

Paper piles getting out of control? Shred happens! Swing by Shred Day at SD3FCU on Saturday, June 6th from 10 AM - 2 PM in the SD3FCU parking lot. Bring up to two boxes and have them shredded for free!

Today is the day! Our 2026 Summer Reading Program begins today and runs through August 1st (31st for Adults). Sign up on Beanstack or stop by the library to get your reading log. There are prizes and fun activities for all ages!

The Security Public Library Board of Trustees has a vacancy on the Library Board. Persons interested in applying for a post on the Board must be a resident of Widefield School District #3 boundaries and should be interested in serving in a voluntary capacity to further public library goals. Applications can be downloaded on our website or picked up at the library.
Completed applications should be mailed to Security Public Library Board of Trustees, 715 Aspen Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80911.
Applications will be accepted through June 30th or until filled.
