To motivate and prepare candidates for success at the US Air Force Academy The U.S. The school's founder and first commander was Colonel Lee Charles Black.

Air Force Academy Preparatory School—usually referred to as "the Prep School" or "The P School"—was established in May 1961. It is located on the campus of the United States Air Force Academy near the Community Center.

Today, our Trainees (soon to be Cadet Candidates) marched a little over 1.5 miles and climbed the “Stairway to Heaven”, a trail which ascends 211 feet by trekking 300-plus steps. The completion of this culminating event signifies their acceptance into one of our three squadrons and today our trainees were presented with their Squadron Patch by their Squadron Commander, AMTs, MTIs, and Cadre Leadership.

Graduation was a bittersweet moment..
We are so proud of our preppies 🥹

The class of 2024 was the prep school’s 64th graduating class. Col. Michael Cornelius, commander of the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School, congratulated the class for achieving the second-highest GPA in the past 20 years!

Now, they are ready to take on BCT (again😏) and continue their academic and military journey to becoming a 2nd LT. Good luck class of 2028!

The Academy Minute: “𝙋𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙋𝙄𝙉𝙂” 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙂𝙍𝙀𝘼𝙏𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙎   The @usafaprepofficial is a 10-month program that offers a select group of enlisted personnel and civilians a potential pathway to join the cadets “up the hill” at the Academy.
