ZoneFIVE and CAEA members of the Pikes Peak Region are pleased to present the 63rd Annual Young People’s Art Exhibition. YPAE is privileged to partner with The Colorado Springs School to honor the talent of young artists from schools across the Colorado Springs Metro area. Artwork displayed at the Louisa Performing Art Center was selected from among the top student artists in Colorado Springs, Falcon, Fountain, Manitou and Monument.
Each year teachers can submit their six top works of the school year. This year, the exhibition holds over 200 pieces of student artwork. It is an honor to be selected to this exhibition because it exemplifies the best of the best. As one of the coordinators of the show, I am always amazed at the talent of our local high school students!
The high school exhibition is juried by category. Last night, the show was adjudicated and the following Coronado art students will be receiving awards at the opening reception:
• Eddie Dunn-Best in Show 2D, Painting Acrylic/Oil
• Kyla Johnston-1st Place, Color Drawing
• Kiersten Byrd-2nd Place, Color Drawing
• Zoe Griffin-1st Place, Sculpture

Student Council is trying to do something new this year and we need your help 🙂
We are excited to announce our first Blanket Drive, happening now through March 20th! We are collecting new and gently used blankets to support those in need in our community.
We would really appreciate your help reminding students about this drive and encouraging them to participate. Every blanket donated can make a real difference, and we’d love your support in hyping them up to get involved and show their school spirit through kindness and generosity.
Here are the main points to share:
What - New or gently used blankets
Where - There are bins set up in the front entry so kids can drop off blankets when they walk in each morning.
Bonus incentive - The grade level that donates the most blankets will win a Hot Cocoa Party + PJ Day!
Thank you for helping us make this drive a success and for always supporting student-led initiatives!

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s longest running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. This recognition of young artists has been a program in Colorado since 1947.
Each year, thousands of Colorado youth enter an average of 5,000 pieces of artwork into the program with the Colorado Art Region of Scholastic Art & Writing. Through the process of blind adjudication, exhibitions of award-winning work, recognition, and awarding of scholarships on the state and national levels, students have opportunities that would not be possible without this program.
Judges look for work that best exemplifies originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. Students receiving Gold Keys, Silver Keys, Honorable Mentions, will be exhibited in the 2026 Colorado Scholastics Exhibition. Gold Key award winners will be adjudicated for the National Scholastics Exhibition in New York.
