Happy Presidents’ Day! This holiday was established in 1885 to celebrate George Washington’s birthday and is still officially recognized by the federal government as “Washington’s Birthday.” Over time, public and commercial use of the term “Presidents’ Day” became common, often understood as a way to honor Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and more broadly, all of the presidents of the United States. The DAO is closed on Monday, February 16th.
