Did someone say owl pellets?? πŸ¦‰

Last week, Mrs. Levi’s 3rd graders had the chance to dissect owl pellets to support their life science standards. What an amazing end-of-year learning opportunity for our 3rd grade students! (And don’t worry… gloves were involved. πŸ˜‚)

Last week, our Huskies had the opportunity to participate in Ridgeview’s annual Nature Fair! 🌲🍁🌸 Students were able to create beautiful sketch art, paint rocks that were added to our rock garden (see updated picture at the end), walk through our sensory room, and make their own pinecone pal! The weather was simply gorgeous and there were smiles galore! Thank you, Huskies, for making this day truly memorable! πŸ’™πŸΎπŸ’™

🚨 Exciting Husky news alert! 🚨

During the District 49 Gifted Fair on Wednesday, May 13th, our Ridgeview Huskies did an amazing job showing their many interests which included: preventing su***de, getting enough sleep, rollerblading, climate change, animal extinction, and making music classes longer. Each student developed his or her own project and worked on them independently in S.O.A.R. classes through the school year. We are so proud of their hard and dedicated work! πŸΎπŸ’™πŸΎ

No school Wednesday May 6, 2026. Enjoy the snow day, stay safe!

D49 Weather Alert: D49 will Close Wednesday, May 6

A rapid shift from spring back to winter will bring an extended blast of cold weather and precipitation into north and eastern El Paso County beginning Tuesday evening. National Weather Service and local meteorologists forecast this system will extend through Wednesday dropping both temperatures, and four to seven inches of snow on much of our area. The most intense pulse of cold and snow will persist through both morning and afternoon commutes, creating hazardous travel conditions for both drivers and walkers. Accordingly, D49 will close, Wednesday, May 6.

This status means BASE 49 will not operate, which is why we are notifying families early to allow time to make necessary adjustments to their schedule. This is our fourth called snow day out of our planned budget of five for the 25-26 school year.

As always, our first priority is the safety of students and staff all over the district. Because our bus and personal transportation routes support many students and staff who travel across zones, we make our weather call decision by evaluating overall conditions that might put any district students or staff at risk.

We thank you for your trust and understanding. Stay warm and safe Wednesday!
