pastor and a hospice chaplain, Khan has witnessed and experienced the challenges that face aging adults as they navigate government and private resources. After completing classes at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Khan received a Professional Advancement Certificate in Gerontology. Sages Elder Care was formed after graduation and now Sages Elder Care seeks to not only serve the needs of older adults, but to be active in the creation of an age friendly community in El Paso County. Sages Elder Care will focus on two primary areas of concentration. The availability of trained and trusted companion and caregivers to support the individual needs of clients in their home. Companions and caregivers will focus on high value support that may include light housecleaning, transportation to social or doctor’s visits, simple meal preparation, shopping, or other individualized request for help in the home. Sages home services will focus on home maintenance needs related to lawn care, minor repairs, snow removal, changing light bulbs, window cleaning, and other request designed to assist homeowner in maintaining the value and safety of their home. Sages care managers will help develop individualized plans and services designed to support independence of clients while focusing on the safety and quality of life for each client. Care managers are also available to support client and client’s families as age related decisions are being made. Care managers will also assist clients by offering referral for services not provided directly by Sages Elder Care. Sages Elder Staff will all have criminal and driving record background checks to insure safety of clients and client’s property. Sages Elder Care will also maintain liability insurance and require staff to have appropriate license and bonding to perform work requested.
