Congratulations to 2025 Stallion Marisa Reyes on being named to the All Region IX team in her first season. Reyes hit an impressive .440 while stealing 26 bases. She also posted an impressive 4.64 ERA striking out 89 batters in 126.2 innings!

Suraiya Payne won a state championship and for a few excruciating moments didn’t know it. The Sierra senior crossed the finish line in the 4A girls’ 100-meter final virtually simultaneously with Holy Family’s Claire Tannehill. With the naked eye it was too close to call.

Surrounded by photographers and commotion after crossing the line, Payne kept her eyes fixed on the Jeffco Stadium scoreboard. “I couldn’t even hear the crowd,” she said. “I was just looking and was, like, ‘Please be me.’”

Finally, Payne’s name flashed first. Her time was 11.63.

Payne has lived through more than 56 billion hudredths of a second. The one separating gold from silver is one she’ll never forget. https://buff.ly/WLAZhZb

Attention Sierra High School! Your Class 4A 100m STATE CHAMPION Suraiya Payne!

Congratulations to the girls 4 x 100 relay team (Kisa, Ziyon, Amelia, Suraiya) who ran a school record 48.78 yesterday to qualify for the finals today!
