Westside Community Center

Last Thursday, at the Parks Advisory Board meeting, the Working Committee officially concluded its work. We couldn't be more proud of what this community built together.

Over three and a half years, we've helped grow the Westside Community Center into something that truly reflects this neighborhood. Diversified programming, evening hours, lease partners like the Catamount Institute, Mountain View Enrichment, Run Mental, and Westside Music, and community gatherings like Saleabration, potlucks and volunteer workdays. All because of your support.

Now we pass the torch.

The Westside Community Center Alliance, an initiative of OWN led by Liz Vaughn, has signed a formal agreement with the City of Colorado Springs and is ready to carry this work forward. The community's seat at the table isn't going anywhere. It just has a new name and a lot of momentum behind it.

We need you. This summer we're tackling the thistles invading the playground, planning community events with partners like Kids on Bikes and Catamount Institute, and continuing to shape what the WCC becomes next.
