🎃 ONE WEEK AWAY! The Arc-PPR's Annual Halloween Dance is almost here!

We're just one week away from one of our favorite community celebrations of the year, and tickets are going fast!

For just $7 per person, you'll enjoy an evening packed with Halloween fun, including:

Important Medicaid Changes: Stay Informed and Ask Questions!

Changes to Medicaid under H.R. 1 will have serious impacts on people with disabilities, their families, and the services they rely on every day.

At The Arc Pikes Peak Region, we are closely watching these changes, asking questions, and working to understand how they will affect our community. We know how much is at stake, and we are standing alongside you.

The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) is hosting a webinar to share updates on Medicaid coverage, eligibility, and how these changes will take effect.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and we're celebrating the power of meaningful employment and the opportunities it creates for people with disabilities!

Rosie recently started a new job at arc Thrift Stores, and she's already experiencing the impact that employment can have on her life. From earning her own money and gaining independence to building friendships and growing her community, Rosie is discovering just how rewarding having a job can be.

Her message to other people with disabilities who are thinking about entering the workforce? Take a chance, put yourself out there, and don't be afraid to ask for opportunities!

At The Arc Pikes Peak Region, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to work, contribute their talents, and feel valued in their community. Rosie's story is a wonderful reminder that inclusive employment benefits not only employees with disabilities, but our entire community.

October 11–17, 2026, has officially been proclaimed Case Management Week in Colorado by Governor Jared Polis!

At The Arc Pikes Peak Region, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible Case Managers and Early Intervention Service Coordinators who work tirelessly to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families.

From connecting families with essential resources to advocating for person-centered services and supports, these dedicated professionals play a vital role in promoting independence, inclusion, and meaningful participation in our communities.

Your compassion, dedication, and commitment to ensuring people with IDD have the opportunities and support they deserve do not go unnoticed.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the talents, passions, and contributions of people with Down syndrome while challenging the stereotypes that too often limit opportunities.

Meet Shana! Through her love of dance and teaching Zumba, Shana is showing the world what happens when people are encouraged to pursue their passions and share their talents.

At The Arc Pikes Peak Region, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen for who they are, pursue what they love, and participate fully in their communities.

This month and every month, let's continue breaking down barriers, challenging assumptions, and celebrating the unique abilities that make our communities stronger!

Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are lifelines for millions of people with disabilities and their families. These programs help people access health care, put food on the table, and receive the supports they need to live, work, and thrive in their communities.

But recent changes to these programs are creating new challenges. Funding cuts, paperwork delays, and confusing requirements are putting access to essential benefits at risk, even for people who qualify.
