It’s not a chatbot anymore. It’s an Agent. 🤖
In 2025, we worried about "Shadow AI"—employees pasting data into unapproved tools. In 2026, we are facing "Shadow Agents."
Unlike traditional Generative AI, Agentic AI has "agency"—the ability to make decisions and execute actions across your network without human intervention. While this saves time, it also creates an entirely new attack surface.
Recent industry polls show that 48% of cybersecurity professionals now consider Agentic AI the #1 threat vector of the year.
Are your current guardrails enough to stop an autonomous system?
Join Dr. Tomás A. Peña, D.Sc. at our next ISSA Colorado Springs meeting to learn how to threat model this new frontier.

From U.S. Cyber Command to the Space ISAC: Dr. Tomás A. Peña on Agentic AI.
When a retired USAF Lt Col and current Space ISAC Board Member speaks about the future of autonomous threats, the industry listens.
Join the ISSA Colorado Springs Chapter on May 12th for a critical briefing from Dr. Tomás A. Peña, D.Sc. For security practitioners, this represents a massive shift in the threat landscape.
Dr. Peña will be breaking down:
✅ The shift from "Generative" to "Agentic" AI.
✅ How autonomous agents are being used in modern cyber attacks.
✅ Threat modeling and mitigation for autonomous architectures.
Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of the region's top experts on the intersection of AI and national security.

Securing the final frontier isn’t just a tagline—it’s a mission-critical priority. 🚀
Three of our ISSA COS Board Members (Srikant, Ken & Colleen) were on the ground at the SSC Cyber Expo 2026, diving deep into the future of space-based asset protection, Zero Trust architecture, and AI-driven defense.
When the mission is this high-stakes, staying at the forefront of innovation isn’t optional. We’re bringing these insights back to our community to ensure Colorado Springs remains the gold standard for cyber excellence.
The big question for our network: As space becomes the new "front line," what do you see as the biggest hurdle for securing orbital assets in 2026? 🛰️💻
