🚨INCIDENT REPORT🚨
At approximately 0830 hours, on National Donut Day, CSFD Fire Chiefs observed CSPD Police Chiefs arriving at a scheduled meeting without donuts.
Based on previous experience, officials determined the likelihood of a productive meeting was rapidly declining.
Immediate action was taken, and Fire Chiefs deployed a dozen donuts to the scene to stabilize conditions and prevent a morale-related emergency.
Outcome:
✅Donuts successfully delivered
✅Police Chiefs regained focus
✅Meeting survived the first agenda item
Status: Resolved

⚠️Full intersection closure at South Academy Blvd at Astrozon Blvd
Starting Friday, June 5 at 7 p.m., Astrozon Blvd at South Academy Blvd will be fully closed in all directions through Monday, June 8 at noon.
Access to nearby businesses and properties will remain open throughout construction.
Please follow the detour signs for alternate routes around the full closure.

⚠️ Traffic Update – South 8th Street
Beginning today, southbound 8th Street between Costilla Street and Lower Gold Camp Road is reduced to one lane, with traffic shifted into the center turn lane. Westbound Moreno Avenue at South 8th Street is closed, while eastbound Moreno Avenue remains open.
These changes are expected to remain in place for approximately two weeks while crews complete utility work.
Additional impacts:
🚌 Mountain Metro Bus Stop 403 at 8th Street and Moreno Avenue is temporarily closed.
🚛 Trucks accessing Lower Gold Camp Road are encouraged to use 21st Street.
🚧 The center lane closure at Motor City Drive remains in place, with left turns restricted and signed detours available.
✅ Access to local businesses remains open and clearly marked.
Please allow extra travel time, slow down, and use caution in the work zone.

Safer streets start with smart solutions.
Now through August, the City of Colorado Springs will install 34 temporary safety demonstration projects across the City.
These include:
🔹 Traffic circles
🔹 Speed tables
🔹 Speed feedback signs
🔹 Flashing school zone signs
🔹 Protected bike lanes
These projects are part of Safe Streets COS and will help the City evaluate which improvements work best before considering permanent installation. Learn more at ColoradoSprings.gov/SafeStreetsCOS.

🚧 Traffic changes are coming to the Dublin Blvd. as crews aim to complete nearly all roadway work by June 15.
⚠️Dublin Blvd. will be closed near Marksheffel Rd. from June 7 (9 p.m.) through June 12 (9 p.m.)
⚠️New traffic signal at Dublin Blvd./Issaquah Dr. goes live June 7
⚠️Mustang Rim Dr. and VanWinkle Dr. will shift to permanent right-in/right-out access June 7
⚠️Business access will remain open throughout construction
By mid-June, Dublin Blvd. is expected to open with two lanes in each direction through the Marksheffel Rd. intersection.
