The Colton Volunteer Fire Department cares about keeping you safe, not only in your home and community, but online as well. That’s why we’ve partnered with the New York State Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection to host a presentation on Stop, Think, Verify: How to Recognize and Avoid Scams.

Join us on October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at the Colton Fire Department for a presentation by Carl Ferrero. The class will cover wellness, investment, romance, and identity theft scams, how to recognize the warning signs, and what to do if you become a victim.

We encourage community members to attend and learn more about protecting themselves and their families. Please help us spread the word.

An ambulance costs money even when it isn’t on a call.

You’re paying for trained staff, equipment, medications, vehicles, stations and the ability to respond immediately when someone calls 911.

Should EMS readiness be funded through taxes the same way communities fund police and fire?

Or should ambulance services be expected to rely mainly on billing and insurance reimbursement?

Where do you think the balance should be?
