I had a pleasant surprise this morning. As I was heading out to put up a couple of more signs, Andrew walked in the door. YES! I had some help! So we rolled out, put a few up around Leonardtown and Clements and made it back in time for HIS meeting about the MD Apprenticeship program that he is currently enrolled in.

When I was first campaigning in 2022, I emphasized how important the career training that is provided by the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center is to St. Marys County Maryland. In my next term, I would like to strengthen career readiness training by working with the St. Mary's County Public Schools and the College of Southern Maryland to fill the many open slots for the trades that we are experiencing in our region.

This will be an "all hands" project and we will need to reach out to our local businesses and give them a seat at the table so we build a school to work program that really works.

Every election gets touted as "the most important election ever", and to me, this is a VERY important election.

This year, we get a real chance to choose one of three candidates to occupy the commissioner seat for the 3rd district. As commissioner, I have always made my decisions on the need of our residents, not outside voices. This is the reason why it is so very important to educate yourself on the candidates and to check your party affiliation at the door. Voting for the "unaffiliated" commissioner candidate is not a throw away vote, it is a vote that proves we are willing to have the conversations and make the decisions that benefit all St. Marys County Maryland residents.

I am the person that has had, and will continue to have those conversations. With everyone.

I was very happy to make it out to Immaculate Conception Church this afternoon to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the parish. The weather wasn't the greatest but it did not dampen our spirits as we enjoyed some fellowship and food.
I want to thank the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for inviting me to be a part of your history as well as Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad for supporting our community.
