To add to our post from earlier, to say how proud we are of FF Tim Welsh would be an understatement. After completing the remembrance run 5k today he was making his way back when he came across a group carrying flags. They told him that their father was a New York City Firefighter who passed away last year. He explained to us he knew their father wouldn’t leave anyone behind so he grabbed a flag and did the race again with them.

On Tuesday 2 September IAFF local F-147 members with management performed live burn training at the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office and Fire Academy. We were joined by sailors from the USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3). During the training crews performed 3 Structual Fire evolutions followed by 3 Shipboard Fire evolutions. To conclude the training some of our members who are certified Fire Instructors performed a Thermal Balance evolution with the sailors. It was a great day to train with brothers and sisters and our DC Sailors from Team 3.

Firefighters are stepping up and putting in the work at Main Side Station 21! đźš’

As part of the Self-Project Program, our firefighters are taking on upgrades to the station kitchen to help improve the living environment for the members who work and live at the firehouse.

These projects are a great example of our firefighters going above and beyond—not only responding when duty calls, but also taking pride in their station and investing their time and effort into making it a better place for everyone.

We appreciate the dedication, teamwork, and pride our members continue to show in taking care of their firehouse and their fellow firefighters.

Pride • Teamwork • Service

This past week your Federal Firefighters provided mutual aid on two occasions to calls in Monmouth County.
On 7/27 Brush 52 (County #94-93) responded mutual aid to Sandy Hook with the National Park Service and Sea Bright Fire/ Rescue for a brush fire in the area of Kingman and Mills on the bay side.

On 7/29 Tanker 51 (County # 94-96) responded mutual aid as part of a Tanker Task Force on Rues Rd in Upper Freehold. Strong work to the companies involved on this assignment who made an aggressive quick stop of a large amount of fire.

Providing mutual aid allows us to offer our services to the community while still having adequate protection on the installation.
