South Carolina families: Here’s an opportunity to speak directly to state policymakers.
The SC Joint Citizens & Legislative Committee on Children is holding public testimony meetings across South Carolina, and families of children with disabilities can participate.
If there is something state leaders need to understand about special education, Medicaid, behavioral health, caregiving, access to services, transition, or another issue affecting children and families, this is an opportunity to put that experience directly into the public record.
Upcoming meetings:
• September 29 at 5 p.m., Greenville Technical College, Greenville
• September 30 at 5 p.m., Charleston County Council Chambers, North Charleston
• October 7 at 5 p.m., Rock Hill City Hall, Rock Hill
• October 14 at 2 p.m., Gressette Building, Columbia
Anyone who would like to testify should email [email protected].
Speakers will have three minutes.
Can’t attend in person? Written testimony may be submitted through October 16 to the same email address.
Lived experience matters. Policymakers need to hear not only what systems are supposed to do, but what families are actually experiencing.
