Columbia Memorial Stair Climb Stepping up for the fallen Through education, symbolic physical achievements and comradery, our fallen and their ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

It is the mission of the Columbia Memorial Stair Climb to honor, remember and celebrate all public servants whom have perished while answering the call of duty, specifically those lost due to the events of September 11, 2001. We will strive to keep their legacy alive, as well as provide an outlet of assistance to those they have left behind, in the spirit of brotherhood.

This is the 10th year Carl has spent his day in full fire fighter gear walking through town (Salisbury) all day long to honor those lost and the first responders who perished. It hits a little harder every year when I see him. If only we could feel the patriotism today that we all felt in the days following the attacks.

Edited to add....he walks 9.11 miles every year.
