Today is a very difficult day. It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, James Lynn Thompson.

Lynn dedicated nearly 50 years of his life to emergency services and to helping others. For those who knew him, though, his legacy cannot be measured simply by the number of years he served. It is measured by the people he helped, the lives he touched, the knowledge he shared, and the friendships he made along the way.

Our team had the privilege of working alongside Lynn at Maury County 911, where he served as our Assistant Director. He was much more than a coworker or an Assistant Director. He was a trusted friend, and someone we could depend on, and an important part of our 911 family.

Over the past several weeks, Lynn faced an incredibly difficult battle with strength and courage. Through it all, he remained the Lynn we knew and loved.

Our hearts go out to Deborah and Lynn's entire family. Please keep them, as well as his Maury 911 family and the many friends and emergency responders who loved him, in your prayers in the difficult days ahead.

Lynn, thank you for your friendship, your service, and for everything you gave to this community and to all of us who were fortunate enough to serve beside you.

Rest easy. We'll take it from here.

September 11,2001
We Will Never Forget

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks- a day that forever changes our nation and the public safety community.

Maury County 911 joins our community in remembering the 2,977 lives lost that day, including firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and ordinary citizens who faced unimaginable circumstances with extraordinary courage and selflessness.

We also remember the first responders and others who served in the days, weeks, and months that followed- many of whom later lost their lives or continue to live with illnesses connected to their service.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

We honor the lives lost.
We remember the heroes.
We stand with their families.
And we will remain grateful for the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown in the face of tragedy.

We Will Never Forget.
