TODAY at 6pm!! The TCP OWLs (Occasional Walking League)!

Wednesday, October 21st, we will be meeting at 6pm at the parking lot on the NORTH side of Stephens Lake Park, accessible via E. Walnut St., near Reichmann Pavilion. We plan to walk SLP's Perimeter Trail.

We will bring water, bug spray, and flashlights, and you bring your walking shoes!

The OWLs are a group of LGBTQIA+ folks and allies who want to get outside, exercise, and enjoy nature. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month.

All ages welcome with guardian supervision. No sign-up required, just show up ready to walk! Coordinators Devon and/or Grant can be spotted easily based on their rainbow or TCP-related clothing.

Time: 2-4pm

For LGBTQIA+ adults 60 years of age and older

Join us for a workshop facilitated by Mid-Missouri Legal Services to learn how to plan ahead to protect your wishes and your loved ones. This is especially important for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. This event is for LGBTQIA+ adults 60 years of age and older. This will be an informative workshop designed to help older adults better understand some of the most important tools and concepts in estate planning.

What happens if you’re temporarily unable to manage your finances or make your own healthcare decisions? And what happens to you and your property when you die?

We’ll discuss:
•Powers of Attorney: Learn why financial and healthcare powers of attorney can be important—and how they can allow someone you trust to manage your finances or make healthcare decisions if you become unable to do so yourself.
•Probate in Missouri: Separate fact from fiction and explore some common misconceptions about what probate is, when it may be required, and how the process works in Missouri.
•Wills and Non-Probate Transfers: Understand how beneficiary designations and other non-probate transfers work alongside a will—and why having a will does not necessarily control every asset you own.

This workshop is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of how these pieces fit together so you can make informed decisions about planning for the future. Participants will receive two free workbooks about the topics, including sample forms to fill out. There will also be a notary present.

From The Center Project's Spiritual Care Resources comes our "Q***r Joy" book study series!

The series has 3 remaining sessions: October 25th, as well as November 8th & 22nd, 2026.

TCP Spiritual Care Resources is offering the opportunity to join an interfaith book study to review "Q***r Joy: A Mosaic of Self-Love, Community, and Resistance" by Bethany Meier-Evans. Some free copies available. It is written by a first-degree Wiccan Priestess author who is also ordained within the United Church of Christ (UCC). Facilitated by our spiritual care co-coordinators chaplain Kimberly Fielding and priestess Samantha Jones. Discussion and various perspectives invited! An art activity is also part of the process. A light evening meal is offered with an RSVP. Start time is 4pm, and ends by 7pm.
