Your career experience could make a difference for a South Carolina student! 🎓

We're still looking for industry professionals to join us at Columbia High School on November 13 for an interactive Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with 11th and 12th graders!

We're seeking mentors in aerospace, logistics, technology, engineering, education and life sciences to share their experiences, answer student questions and offer a firsthand look at different career paths.

It's a great opportunity to connect with students and help them explore what's possible after high school.

Interested in participating? Reach out to Mendy Lewis at [email protected] to learn more.

The future is bright, and our team got to see it firsthand last week!

SC Competes was proud to co-host the Maritime & Logistics Youth Expo in Greenville alongside the Maritime Association of South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce.

More than 200 students had the opportunity to explore careers in logistics, supply chain, transportation, aerospace, manufacturing, and maritime. We loved seeing students so engaged throughout the event, asking great questions and connecting directly with industry professionals to learn more about career opportunities.

A big thank you to all the exhibitors who volunteered their time to inspire the next generation of talent! We especially enjoyed seeing several SC Competes partners in attendance, including Maher Advanced Manufacturing, BMW Manufacturing Co., Continental, Sunland Logistics, VS America Inc., and Clemson University.

We're excited to keep building on this momentum and can't wait for the next Expo!

It's been a busy week connecting with industry leaders, partner organizations, educators, and students across South Carolina. Here's a look at where we've been!

Jamie DeMent attended the eMYRge Golf Tech Accelerator Challenge in Myrtle Beach, where eight golf tech companies from across the country connected with local talent, industry leaders, and investors before pitching their innovative solutions.

Susie Shannon and Kelly Baird attended the SC APEX Impact Summit, where Susie joined a panel discussing defense, military, and industry opportunities, while Kelly connected with attendees at the SC Fraunhofer USA Alliance table to share information about its applied research opportunities.

Amy Sartain, Stephen Astemborski, Callie Price, and Mendy Lewis helped welcome students to the 2026 Maritime & Logistics Youth Expo in Greenville! Proudly co-hosted with the Maritime Association of SC and SC DEW, the event gave local high school students a hands-on look at careers in maritime, logistics, and supply chain.

From supporting emerging technologies to strengthening industry connections and inspiring the next generation of talent, it's been a great week of moving South Carolina forward!
