🏆💙💛 MORE THAN COACHES… THEY'RE BUILDING FUTURE LEADERS! 🐾

Today, we celebrate the incredible COACHES of the Columbia School District who do so much more than teach the game!

From the practice fields and courts to the sidelines and beyond, our coaches are developing more than athletic skills. They are building character, confidence, discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership in our student-athletes every day.

They teach our Wildcats how to win with humility, face challenges with determination, support their teammates, and represent the BLUE & GOLD with pride.

The lessons learned through athletics extend far beyond the scoreboard. Our coaches help shape young people who understand the value of hard work, commitment, respect, and what it truly means to be a WILDCAT!

To all of our CSD coaches, THANK YOU for the countless hours, dedication, encouragement, and heart you pour into our students. Your impact reaches far beyond the game and will be felt for years to come.

YOU DON'T JUST COACH WILDCATS… YOU HELP BUILD THEM! 💙💛🐾

Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow.

🎃🍂 What a GREAT day at Mitchell Farms! 🍂🎃

Our students had an absolute BLAST enjoying Sensory Day at Mitchell Farms! From exploring the farm and participating in activities to simply enjoying time together outside of the classroom, there were smiles everywhere. 💙💛

But one of the best parts of the day wasn’t something you could find on the farm - it was the connections that were made. Families had the opportunity to meet and connect with one another, parents spent time getting to know staff members, and our students were surrounded by people cheering them on and making sure they had the best day possible.

Days like this remind us that school is about so much more than what happens inside four walls. It’s about building relationships, creating meaningful experiences, and strengthening the connection between our schools, our families, and our community.

A HUGE thank you to our families, staff members, volunteers, and everyone who helped make today possible. It truly took a village, and our village showed up BIG! 🫶

We are so thankful for a day filled with fun, laughter, connection, and memories! 🎃🚜🍁

🎃💙💛 MANY HANDS HELP MANY PEOPLE! 🐾
Our Columbia School District students were proud to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand at the First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch, joining students from schools across Marion County to unload pumpkins and serve our community.
It was a perfect reminder that many hands make light work—and when young people come together to serve, their impact reaches far beyond the pumpkin patch! 🤝🎃
These pumpkins have a meaningful story of their own. They are grown in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, helping provide employment and economic opportunities within the community. Even better, a portion of the local pumpkin patch proceeds will benefit the Kids Hub Child Advocacy Center, extending the spirit of service even further.
We are proud of our Wildcats for learning that leadership also means showing up, pitching in, and helping others. 💙💛
Many schools. Many hands. One community making a difference! 🐾🎃
There are many special events planned for the Pumpkin Patch including Trick or Treat for Children on 10/31.

🏆💙💛 HONORING A WILDCAT LEGEND — COACH CHARLES BOSTON 🐾
One of the most memorable moments of our 2026 Homecoming celebration came when Wildcat Nation rose to its feet and filled Walter Payton Field with thunderous applause to honor a true Columbia legend—Coach Charles Boston, a 2026 inductee into the Marion County Sports Hall of Fame!
The standing ovation was a fitting tribute to a man whose influence reaches far beyond wins and losses. As a coach, educator, mentor, athletic director, and former Columbia School District Board member, Coach Boston has spent a lifetime investing in young people and helping shape the athletic history of our community.
Joining Coach Boston on the field for this special recognition were Michael Griffith, CHS Class of 1987 and Chairman of the Marion County Sports Hall of Fame; Coach Boston’s former player and Jackson State University and NFL standout Eddie Payton and his wife, Joyce; and Columbia School District Superintendent Dr. Jason Harris.
We were especially thrilled to welcome Eddie and Joyce Payton back to Walter Payton Field for this meaningful to honor his former coach and mentor.

“If I had to wish for all the kids in Columbia to have a father (figure) and a coach, I would use Coach Boston as a role Model. His leadership did a lot for Columbia High’s football team and athletic program to be as successful as they were,” Eddie Payton.

Coach Boston, the applause said it all. Generations of Wildcats are better because of your leadership, mentorship, and service. Congratulations on this distinguished and well-deserved honor!
A LEGEND. A MENTOR. A WILDCAT FOREVER. 💙💛🐾
