Emergency kits are customizable! Sometimes they need an extra stuffed animal or a favorite bag of Goldfish crackers.
When building an emergency supply kit for your child, include comfort items that can help them feel safe during and after an earthquake or other emergency.

In Columbia, we were excited to participate in Riverbanks Zoo and Garden's Sensory Day, an event designed to provide visitors with a welcoming and accessible environment while connecting them with valuable community resources.

Meanwhile, in Rock Hill, we had the pleasure of participating in Winthrop University Center for Career Development & Internships' Career Bootcamp Panel. We enjoyed engaging with students, sharing professional development tips, and highlighting the important work of the SC DOI. A few inches of water can severely damage floors, walls, and appliances. Contact your insurance agent today to request a flood insurance quote.

🌧️ A rainy weekend is ahead, and coastal flooding is a concern.

Widespread rainfall is expected to develop Friday night into early Saturday, with the heaviest rainfall possible Saturday. Rain may continue through Sunday.

With higher-than-normal high tides expected this weekend, heavy rainfall occurring around high tide could lead to rapid coastal flooding in Charleston and other coastal areas.

Here's how to prepare:

🌧️ Allow extra time for travel and stay alert to changing conditions.
🚗 Never drive through flooded roads.
🌊 Be especially cautious in areas prone to tidal or street flooding.
📱 Monitor local weather updates and sign up for CHS Alerts to receive emergency notifications.
