Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity In 38 years Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity has helped 190 families in Boone and surrounding counties affordably own homes of their own.

Habitat for Humanity builds homes in partnership with low-income families and volunteers in our community. Homeowners pay a zero-interest mortgagee for the cost of building their home. Volunteers and donors ensure the mortgages are affordable. Habitat homeowners typically have incomes that are 30-60 percent of the median income in the area. They are required to invest an average 250-300 house of sweat equity - time spent building their own home or other Habitat homes alongside volunteers as well as homeownership education.

The countdown is officially in full swing. Saturday, October 10, 2026 is almost here, and Frame The World is rolling into Boone Prairie with hammers up and hearts even higher.

One day. One home. One powerful impact. 🔨🪚🧰

Five days until the frames go up, the sawdust flies, and a future Habitat home gets a whole lot closer to “welcome home.” If walls could talk, these ones would already be saying thank you!!

Who’s ready to watch Boone Prairie take shape? Drop a 🏠 if you’ll be cheering from the sidelines (or the job site)!

What an incredible day at Boone Prairie! 🏠💙

We were so grateful to welcome our friends from Midway Locust Grove Church for a day of building, teamwork and service. This hardworking (and incredibly fun!) group rolled up their sleeves and gave their time and energy to help move another Habitat home closer to completion.

Every hour volunteered and every task completed makes a meaningful difference. Our volunteers don’t just help build houses—they help create opportunities for local families to achieve the stability, security and pride that come with affordable homeownership.

Thank you, Midway Locust Grove Church, for showing up for our families and our community. We are incredibly grateful for your continued dedication to serving others and for being part of the Habitat mission! 💙🔨🏠

🚨Scam Alert🚨

Scammers on Facebook and other social media platforms claiming to be Habitat for Humanity have been running ads for free roofing, repair, or remodel services. This is NOT a service provided by Habitat. Our affiliate specifically focuses exclusively on new builds. Some other Habitat affiliates offer repair services, but this is generally low-cost and not free. Please DO NOT give your personal information in an application unless you are SURE it is from a reputable Habitat for Humanity affiliate. Contact your local affiliate directly if you are unsure (you can find it here: https://www.habitat.org/volunteer/near-you/find-your-local-habitat) Putting your personal information in the wrong hands could put you at risk for identity theft.

If you see one of these suspicious ads, please report it. If you have been targeted, please report this to your local police department, ic3.gov, and reportfraud.ftc.gov.

🚨IMPORTANT: SCAM ALERT🚨

It has come to our attention that scammers have been using the Habitat for Humanity International name and logo to falsely advertise free roofing and repair services. This is a scam and not affiliated with Show Me Central Habitat for Humanity or Habitat for Humanity International. DO NOT give them your personal information.

While some affiliates do offer affordable repair services, our affiliate currently only does new builds in our Boone Prairie Subdivision. Our applications are only open in March and will be available on our website (showmehabitat.com) or in person at our ReStore.

If you’re unsure about what services are offered or if you have questions, please reach out to your local Habitat for Humanity affiliate.
