RESHARING----> 🔥 FIRE WEATHER WATCH — Lowndes County
🕐 Effective 4:45 PM, expires 4:45 AM
📋 Situation: A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Lowndes County due to a combination of gusty north winds, low relative humidity, and critically dry fuels. Any fires that start in the area will have the potential to spread rapidly and become life-threatening.
⏱️ Timing: Friday morning through Friday evening
🚒 Responder Impact: Responders should anticipate an increased risk of rapidly spreading grass and brush fires, along with potential call-volume increases. High winds could also complicate containment efforts and make operations difficult for apparatus staging in open areas.
🛠️ Suggested Action: Consider pre-staging brush trucks and reminding local residents that outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
