Throughout the year, we have highlighted the various rooms and parts of the Circus House and Carriage House. We thought it would be fitting to wrap it up with some photos of the Circus House at Christmas.

We have had a blast sharing the transformation of this beautiful property over the last two years - and appreciate all of the love and support along the way!

The third-floor bathroom, just like everything else, has undergone some work to bring it back to life. All the drawers and cabinet doors were missing. We were able to salvage the top and build new doors and drawers for the base. New plumbing fixtures and light fixtures were added. The original clawfoot bathtub was cleaned up and repainted gold.

We painted the walls a beautiful teal to match the floor tile and added our funky artwork.

Our visiting guests are loving this bathroom!

CIRCUS HOUSE - BACKYARD
The backyard of the house is really one of the most charming and functional spaces - I mean who doesn't like an outdoor kitchen and a pool?!

The entire backyard space has had a redo to ensure that it's functional, usable, and enjoyable - and with all the gardens blooming like they are right now, it's just a beautiful space.

We had a blast participating in the Columbus Doo Dah parade on the 4th of July! We entertained the crowd while letting them know that "The Circus House is back in town".

Paige was able to once again wear her Ringmaster attire and used her bullhorn to engage the crowd. Her husband, Jason, played the role of The Strong Man as he "pulled" the car that was driven by a clown. The other crew of 3 had crazy attire and pool floats as they passed out candy and strolled through the neighborhood along the parade route.

Circus House Update - DINING ROOM

One of the first things that you see when coming into the house is the dining room - and it is stunning!

It was important to restore the original damaged fireplace as much as possible. The mantel had been removed prior to our purchase and in doing this much of the tile was damaged or loose. We carefully removed all the remaining tile, cleaned it, and restored it. We created a mantel and surround that would make the fireplace more of a statement and would be similar to the original design. We decided to have the wood go all the way to the ceiling and create a bigger footprint than before so that it looked more grand in the room.

The dining room table was then designed exclusively for the room. It is made out of two pieces of maple that are 11 feet long and the middle is an epoxy river that matches the tile in the dining room fireplace and reveals the live edge of the wood. It fits the room perfectly and matches perfectly.

The chandelier is unique as well and is made of hand-blown glass teardrops on gilded branches. It is 7 feet long and an ideal match for the room.

We are so pleased with the final product!

CIRCUS HOUSE IN BLOOM!

We wanted to share the beautiful garden with you. In addition to all of the work that has been done in the house and the carriage house - we have also given the landscaping a new look. This is the time of year when everything is in bloom - it looks spectacular!

We added canna lilies, hydrangeas, gladiolas, hibiscus, and hostas to the front beds of the house. We added Birds of Paradise and Fiddle Leaf Figs in the urns.

Circus House Update - POOL BATHROOM

One of the main reasons that Paige purchased this house was the pool, and with a pool comes the need for a pool bathroom. So extensive work was done on the pool bathroom to ensure that when it gets used (which is a lot now because the weather has been very pool-worthy!) it's functional and stylish. We absolutely love the wallpaper in this bathroom as well as the side wall sconces.

Circus House Update! KITCHEN

We finally got the rest of the appliances for the kitchen installed - and it looks so great!

All of the appliances were completely destroyed or damaged when we purchased the house. We were able to repair and restore the refrigerator and freezer only. The fireplace was also completely removed and had suffered massive water damage. We created a new face for the fireplace that extended to new side cabinetry that would match the rest of the kitchen. We increased the island size to create seating for 6. We added a massive 60" double oven with 6 gas burners and a double griddle.

The diamonds from the original stain glass in the house can be spotted through the kitchen in the backsplash, fireplace cabinetry, cabinet pulls (Yes, there are diamond patterns in them!), and the appliance faces.

As you can see there was a lot of work to be done to bring this area of the house back to glory, and after all the work and waiting was put in - we are extremely excited with how well it came out.

Circus House Update - Sitting Room

The sitting room is on the first floor of the house and is located in the other round room in the front of the house. This is our most formal room in the house. The layout of this room mirrors Paige's office across the hall.

This room had sustained a lot of damage a well and the fireplace was completely removed. This allowed us the freedom to add an elegant marble front and an oak mantel that went all the way to the ceiling with a judge's panel. We also stripped the beautiful 5 ft. quarter-sawn oak pocket doors and stained them to match the fireplace.

Since the rooms mirrored each other, we decided to mirror the features as well. The fireplace, light fixtures, paint colors, and rugs all match in these 2 rooms. The only thing different is the furnishings which give each room its own feel.

This room overlooks the park and tennis courts and has become the main source of relaxation and entertainment for the cats as they watch all the fun activities in the park. Make sure you wave to Mustafa and Greta in the window next time you walk by.

Circus House Update - Jason's 2nd-Floor Office

Jason also has an office in the Circus House - and it's right at the top of the grand stairwell. This room has the best view of the city. It overlooks the park, downtown, and the pool.

Jason was put in charge of his own room and opted for darker colors. The walls are a warm grey and the ceiling is black Since the fireplace was missing, we restored the firebricks so it would work. We added a new "salvaged" fireplace front and mantel and a rich granite hearth.

The desk was custom-made from an original door in the house. The room has been accessorized with all of Jason's memorabilia collected over his 49 years. It is truly an awesome room made especially for Jason.
