This week I was in Ross, Wyandot and of course Franklin counties litigating cases. I firmly believe itβs crucial to elect judges with well-rounded courtroom experience. I have practiced law in over 35 Ohio counties, have tried dozens of jury trials, and argued countless number of cases. We need experienced judges who will be fair, follow the law, work hard to keep us safe, and treat all parties with respect. Have a great weekend everyone! π
Question of the Day: Do you believe you will have a good judicial temperament?
Answer: This is an important question that frankly, should be discussed more often. Judicial temperament describes a judge's general attitude toward the law, litigants and other judges. Yes, I do believe I would have a good judicial temperament. I am in the courtroom just about every day and manage a busy docket. I have practiced in front of dozens of judges and have personally seen how judicial temperament can affect the parties and even the outcome of a particular case. I have been in front of judges with a wide range of temperaments and have learned over the past 18 years that an appropriate judicial temperament is critical to the fair administration of justice. πβοΈ

Candidate for:
Franklin County Municipal Court
Undergraduate Education: Muskingum University, B.A. (2000), Summa Cum Laude; member of speech team
Legal Education: Capital University Law School (2003), Summa Cum Laude; Associate Editor of Law Review; Legal Writing and Research Teaching Assistant
Legal Experience:
I graduated from Capital University Law School in 2003, with highest honors. While in law school, I was able to intern with several firms, which allowed me to gain experience in the practice areas of criminal defense and civil litigation. Shortly after graduating, I became a partner in a firm where I devoted most of my practice to criminal law and ended up trying my first jury trial just a month after becoming licensed. I have been in private practice for several years and have managed my own law firm in the German Village area since 2014. I have represented clients from all walks of life and from all different ages, races and backgrounds. I represent a diverse clientele, many of whom have struggled with drug addiction, substance abuse, mental health and other personal issues.
I have tried dozens of criminal jury trials throughout central Ohio in municipal and common pleas courts. In additional to criminal jury trials, I have litigated civil cases, participated in depositions, mediations, and settlements. You can find me in the Franklin County Municipal Court just about every day, and I pride myself on the kind of broad experience I will bring to the bench. Also, I have argued numerous appellate cases in several courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court.
I believe I am qualified for the Franklin County Municipal Court because of my 18 years of litigation experience and familiarity with the court. I have handled hundreds of municipal court cases and have tried cases there. I know how the court works, and while there is always something new to learn, I am confident that if elected, I will be prepared to take the bench on day one.
Further, as part of my law practice, I have represented clients from diverse backgrounds, each with a different life story. Based on my unique professional experience, I believe I am qualified to listen to everyone who walks into my courtroom, keep an open mind, apply the law, and to administer justice in a fair and balanced way. Also, of great importance is to treat all litigants and parties with respect. I kindly ask for your support this November.
