Summer 2026 is buzzing with achievements and inspiring stories from the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association. From the successful OMCA Institute in Lewis Center to celebrating our own at the IIMC Conference in Reno, it’s been an eventful season.

We honored Janice Bates as IIMC President-Elect, Sharon Cassler and Katie Lewallen for their outstanding contributions, and Mollie Prasher as Clerk of the Year. A special shoutout to Avery Russell, our honorary clerk and a true superhero, for her role in the passing of Avery’s Law.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to our vibrant community. We look forward to seeing even more of you next year!

Are you working toward your CMC or MMC designation, or looking for additional educational opportunities through OMCA and IIMC? The IIMC Foundation's Education Endowment Scholarship may be able to help!
The scholarship application period for the 2027 OMCA Institute opened September 1. These scholarships are designed to support professional development and help clerks access valuable training, networking, and certification opportunities. 

As scholarship recipient Katie Lewallen, MMC, shared:
“I am grateful to have received the Education Endowment Scholarship. This scholarship provided me with the opportunity to participate in many educational sessions and classes that I may not have been otherwise able to attend. These classes have helped to further me in my career and in my certifications.
