This past week:

Atlas Company, 3-54 Infantry Battalion, conducted a physically demanding obstacle course and rappelling training exercise.

Trainees were challenged with a series of physically intensive events designed to enhance agility, upper and lower body strength, endurance, and mental resilience. 1st platoon won the best squad competition crushing every event and setting the standard for Atlas company

Trainees also conducted controlled rappels on Hammer tower, reinforcing confidence in equipment, trust in leadership, and individual competence in high-stress environments. Each trainee pushed beyond their limits, proving why Atlas is known for discipline and determination.

Yesterday, Atlas Company trainees faced one of the most memorable events of Basic Training – the Gas Chamber.

The trainees were taught how to properly don and seal their protective masks under CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) conditions. Once confident, they entered the chamber to put that training to the test.

The Gas Chamber is an unforgettable experience that instills confidence in their equipment and trust in their training. Atlas Company’s grit and motivation throughout the event inspired our Cadre and proved once again that these future Infantry Soldiers are up for any challenge!

Today, the Trainees of Atlas Company, 3-54 IN tackled the Confidence Course. Trainees pushed themselves through challenging obstacles such as the Jacob’s Ladder, the Weaver, and the Tough One. Each obstacle tested their strength, determination, and trust in themselves and their battle buddies. These moments build not only physical toughness, but also the confidence needed to continue their journey toward becoming Infantrymen.

Atlas Company is proud of the grit and resilience our trainees showed today!

This morning, our trainees started the day early with a 2-mile ruck before moving straight into Counter-IED training. During this critical block of instruction, they learned about the different types of improvised explosive devices, how to identify them in the field, the proper steps to deal with them, and techniques for probing for mines. This training prepares them for the complex environments and hazards they may face as Infantry Soldiers.

Every step they take brings them closer to becoming disciplined, capable, and resilient warriors, who may one day have the unique honor of wearing the blue cord.

📡 Atlas Company, 3-54 IN 📡

Today our trainees participated in a radio communication class, learning how to operate the SINCGARS radio system. Clear and reliable communication is one of the most critical aspects of success on the battlefield.

By becoming proficient in this system, our trainees gain the skills necessary to relay vital information, coordinate movements, and ensure the safety of their fellow Soldiers. This training builds the foundation for teamwork and mission success—because without communication, even the best plans cannot be executed.

Atlas Company is proud to see our future Infantrymen mastering this essential tool of their profession.

Atlas Company, 3-54 IN (AKA Alpha Company, 3-54 IN)

Today, our trainees took on the Teamwork Development Course (TDC). This event challenged them to solve complex problems, overcome physical obstacles, and rely on each other’s strengths to succeed.

The TDC is more than just a set of obstacles—it’s about building trust, communication, and teamwork under pressure. Each lane demanded that the trainees think critically, adapt quickly, and work together to find solutions.

By the end of the day, these trainees began to understand that success in the Army isn’t about the individual, but about the team moving forward as one. This is a foundational step as they continue their journey toward becoming Infantrymen.

The first 72 hours have come to an end for our new trainees. In this short time, they’ve already taken their first steps on the long journey from civilian to Infantry Soldier. These initial days are just the beginning—Their days at Infantry OSUT will surely be filled with challenges that test their discipline, resilience, and determination.

While the road ahead will not be easy, these trainees have shown the potential to push forward and meet the demands of the Infantry. With grit, commitment, and support from their loved ones back home, they may one day earn the title of Infantryman.

Stay tuned as Atlas Company continues to forge the next generation of Soldiers.

Atlas Company, 3-54 IN – First 72 Hours, Day 2

Our new trainees are getting attuned to the rhythm of Army life! Today, they focused on the foundation of becoming Soldiers — learning basic Soldiering tasks such as making their beds to standard, practicing customs and courtesies, practicing physical readiness training, and beginning drill and ceremony.

These early lessons may seem small, but they build the discipline and attention to detail that will carry them through training and their Army careers.
