Advocates for Ohio’s Future is a statewide coalition of over 500 organizations working to strengthen all of Ohio's families and communities.

Advocates for Ohio’s Future works to accomplish its mission by:

We need your help!

AOF stands with Philanthropy Ohio, the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County, the Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County, and the Cuyahoga Human Services Chamber in opposing a problematic provision included in the House Ways and Means Committee reconciliation language.

This provision would grant the executive branch unilateral authority to revoke the 501c3 status of nonprofits without due process or evidence.

Please join us in contacting U.S. Representative Mike Carey at 202-225-2015, and U.S. Representative Max Miller at 202-225-3876, and urging them to reject this provision tonight.

The word matters. The proposed Ohio operating budget says that if federal assistance for Medicaid expansion drops below 90%, Ohio’s Department of Medicaid *shall* immediately discontinue all medical assistance for members of the group.

That would leave 770,000 Ohioans without health care coverage — and no time to prepare.

Ohio Medicaid Matters asks legislators to reconsider this language — and replace “shall” with “may.”

AOF joins The Center for Community Solutions and the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County in celebrating the rescission of the memo to freeze federal funds.

We will remain vigilant and united, and focused on delivering the same high-quality services, supports, and resources our communities and the federal government have long entrusted our sector to provide.

In December, Ohio released a proposal to require adults on Medicaid between ages 19 and 55 to prove they are employed or lose their Medicaid coverage, with only a few exemptions. 400,000 Ohioans could lose coverage. Sign on to oppose these requirements here: https://advocatesforohio.org/Medicaid

The U.S. House has passed legislation that would allow the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury to unilaterally rescind the 501c3 status of nonprofit organizations. The bill now moves to the U.S. Senate.

Please see our joint statement with The Center for Community Solutions and the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County urging the U.S. Senate to reject this legislation.
