This past weekend, Buckeye Company's Marine Option Midshipmen, MECEPs, and interested Navy Option Midshipmen conducted and participated in our annual Fall Field Exercise (FEX).
During this FEX, there were many versatile, educational, and challenging training evolutions. To start, midshipmen and MECEPs received a Company Operations Order and completed a 6.6-mile hike. They also conducted a class and practical application over Introduction to Detainment, along with a class over Cover and Concealment. Finally, everyone participated in a Land Navigation course, and finished the FEX with 10 hours of low light and nighttime Patrol Base Operations.
Field exercises like this provide our Marine Options with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to make them successful at Officer Candidate School and The Basic School. Well done this weekend, Marine Options!
